Description
Earth is ours no more. In an era where Machines roam the land and mankind is no longer the dominant species, a young hunter named Aloy embarks on a journey to discover her destiny. In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, pockets of humanity live on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the Machines – fearsome mechanical creatures of unknown origin.

The world and story of this game is phenomenal. I wasn't entirely enamored by the combat system, but the aesthetics and concept of massive moving machines was amazing. This game does a great job at building a universe that is larger than the game itself.

Horizon: Zero Dawn was a breath of fresh air in the open-world genre. The setting was unique, the story was intriguing, and Aloy became one of my favorite protagonists. The combat against robotic creatures was unlike anything I’d experienced, and the world itself was just beautiful. There were some moments where I felt the pacing was off, but overall, it was one of the best open-world games I’ve played.

I recently dived in and played the remastered version and it just reminded me why I loved Horizon: Zero Dawn in the first place. It was such a fascinating original story and the whole visual presentation was absolutely stunning. It was definitely worthy of its GOTY nomination.

A visually stunning open-world adventure with a unique take on post-apocalyptic storytelling. Fighting massive robotic beasts was thrilling, and Aloy’s journey kept me hooked. Some side quests felt repetitive, but the world itself made it worth exploring.

A very cool concept combining the archaic and futuristic. While characters and story are nothing exceptional, the gameplay, sound effects and everything else is top tier!
