Description

I played this a few years ago and was surprised by the quality of the remake. The race mission still traumatizes me to this day, but everything else was a fun ride!

A brilliant remaster of the classic Mafia which goes the extra mile to update virtually every aspect of the game. Even cutscenes have been reanimated to be more cinematic and a better quality, though no substantial gameplay features have been added.

The original Mafia is my favorite game of all time, and while the remake was a solid modern take on that masterpiece, I think it lacked some essential parts.
What I didn't like about the remake was the fact that developers decided to ditch all the original dialogues and write new ones, especially during the cutscenes.
And that was a huge mistake. The original game had some great quotes. Especially the final monologue from Tommy that I still go back and listen to sometimes. That was more meaningful than what the devs put in the remake one.
