Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

The Marvel Universe's most recognizable heroes face off against a host of new enemies in this spectacular beat-'em-up from EA. More than a dozen characters go at it in completely destructible environments, including Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man, will delight fans of the best comic book. Each superhero also has their own attack and defense moves that make the most of their particular powers, along with spectacular special moves that will leave you speechless. In addition to the Marvel characters, you'll be able to control the new "anti-heroes," who are not exactly lacking in special moves and superpowers. And good news for lovers of gratuitous violence: Venom, Spider-Man's arch-nemesis, is also taking part in this party.

Many of the game's environments are lifted straight from Marvel comics, such as the offices of The Daily Bugle or the sumptuous surroundings of Avengers Mansion. The character modeling and animation is excellent, though the frenetic pace of the slap-downs doesn't leave much time to admire them. In addition to devastating head-to-head combat, each character has their own story line that unfolds as you progress through the Story mode. To add some variety to these one-on-one fights, you'll also have to deal with multiple enemies at once, which is extremely exciting considering you can use items you find in the game as weapons against your rivals.
