A hauntingly beautiful journey across a post-apocalyptic Russia. Exploring open areas felt fresh, but the tense underground moments still stood out as classic Metro.

A perfect transition into the open world style for the Metro series, actually the best part for me was the Two Colonels DLC which perhaps embodies the spirit of the Metro series better than any other set of missions. The Volga and Ural areas are also very good in the main game!

Metro Exodus took the series in a new direction, and for the most part, it works. The open-world sections were a breath of fresh air, but the real magic is in the atmosphere. The world feels alive and dangerous, and the story had me invested from start to finish. It’s got some pacing issues, but if you’re a fan of atmospheric shooters, Exodus hits the mark.
