Deception improved on a lot of what Deadly Alliance started. The roster was larger, the environments were interactive, and the new gameplay modes, like the Konquest mode, added a fresh layer of depth. The online multiplayer was a huge selling point, but the game’s overall flow still felt a little off. The fatalities were still brutal, and the story mode was engaging, but there’s still a bit of clunkiness in the fighting mechanics.
