A few years ago, weaponized parasites codenamed Alpha-worms infested the Ground: Alpha site. All of the infected humans mutated into bloodthirsty monsters. The parasites spread so quickly that the entire infected area had to be steralized to avoid a global pandemic. The events surrounding the infection were hidden from the public to avoid a potential worldwide panic. However, on August 12th, 2015, another outbreak was detected in Tokyo, Japan. The infection spread instantly and the United Nations saw no other option than to order the total sterilization of Tokyo.
