Project Zomboid

The only thing stopping me from dedicating my life entirely to Project Zomboid is the lack of NPCs. I first discovered the game back in high school, and even then, it felt like NPCs were just a matter of time. Well, several years have passed, and they’re still just a promise.

That said, the game remains incredibly fun and provides a truly authentic experience of the hardships of surviving a zombie apocalypse. Even if a zombie isn’t what ends your run, something else surely will. One time, for instance, my character died because a branch injured his neck, and I didn’t have time to apply a bandage. Simply magnificent.

Project Zomboid is as hardcore as it gets in the survival genre. The zombie apocalypse feels real here—there's no easy way out, and death is always lurking. I love how it focuses on the nitty-gritty details, like managing hunger, sleep, and even boredom while trying to stay alive. The world is huge, and there's always something new to discover, but the difficulty can be brutal. It’s not the most polished game, but the sheer depth and freedom make up for it. If you’re into hardcore survival games that don't hold your hand, Project Zomboid will make you work for every second of life.
