A very steep learning curve even for veteran players of Paradox games. Personally I didn't find it to be especially worth it and titles like Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings are much more fun.

Victoria 3 is much more linear than what you may think.
The game is quite stiff without any significant flexibility. It doesn't let the players do whatever they want, unlike Crusader Kings 3.
