Watch Dogs Legion

Although something of a departure from the previous Watch Dogs games, the futuristic rendition of London is truly one of the most fun open worlds to explore!

This was my first experience with any of the Watch Dogs games. I was never interested in the other ones because they just looked like GTA but with hackers, but the NPC mechanic of Watch Dogs: Legion immediately hooked me, with any person on the streets of the dystopian cyberpunk future London can be recruited. I loved this mechanic and how much you can customize each recruit's appearance while also experimenting with what unique abilities they have. You can recruit everything from construction workers to people pretending to be statues and each of them has something to offer.

Add in an enjoyable story and plenty of side quests to do around the city and Watch Dogs: Legion became one of my favorite experiences since owning a PS5. I really hope UbiSoft brings this concept back if they do another Watch Dogs game.

While the gameplay in Watch Dogs Legion was top-notch in the series, I believe the setting was not a good fit.

London is just too dense for an open-world game with vehicles. The streets are usually to narrow and short that there is no fun in driving.

The story also didn't really grow on me as there was no real protagonist. However, I still enjoyed the game.

Watch Dogs Legion takes the series' hacking gameplay to a whole new level, letting you recruit anyone in the open world to join your cause. The idea of playing as anyone is awesome, but it can feel like a double-edged sword—while the variety is cool, it also means you’re not as attached to any one character, which can make the story feel a bit disconnected. The London setting is gorgeous, and the hacking mechanics are still fun, but the combat can get repetitive. The real standout here is the free-form approach to missions, letting you tackle things in your own way. If you’re into open-world chaos and tech-based gameplay, Legion is worth a go, even if it’s not perfect.
