Description
Winner of Best Game at the 2018 BAFTA Game Awards, as well as Best Narrative awards at the GDC 2018 Choice Awards, 2018 SXSW Gaming Awards, and The Game Awards 2017, What Remains of Edith Finch is a collection of strange tales about a family in Washington state.
As Edith, you’ll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she's the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day.
The gameplay and tone of the stories are as varied as the Finches themselves. The only constants are that each is played from a first-person perspective and that each story ends with that family member's death.
Ultimately, it's a game about what it feels like to be humbled and astonished by the vast and unknowable world around us.

An emotional journey that feels like a collection of short stories. The narrative is incredibly well done, and the atmosphere sucked me in. The brother's story where he flew from the Swing made me cry.

What Remains of Edith Finch deeply impacted me when I played it—I never imagined something so short could leave such a lasting impression. The story is filled with mysteries, many of which I still try to make sense of even now. And that plot twist at the end? Absolutely incredible.
I love recommending this game to friends without telling them what it’s about, letting them experience the surprises for themselves.

This game was like playing through a beautifully tragic storybook. Each family member’s tale was unique and emotionally gripping. I was in awe of the creativity in the storytelling, though it left me wanting more closure by the end.

Telling the eerie tale of the fate of the Finch family, 'What Remains of Edith Finch' is one of those games that draws you in little by little until it has your full and undivided attention (which happens pretty soon once the backdrop is set and its mysterious story starts unfolding). While its narrative is undoubtedly its strongest point, this first-person exploration game doesn't try to betray its primary identity of a video game either, courtesy of some truly innovative gameplay segments that fit in so well they tickle that good part of your brain.
