Yakuza 4's story explores the ongoing impact of a 1985 assassination a quarter of a century later. Players are placed into the shoes of four different characters to unravel the mystery, with each one boasting their own unique fighting style. These range from karate to things like wrestling and Taekwondo.

As the fates of these four men overlap, the story of a miracle created by the passionate and violent way of life begins to takes shape.
