Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking grunt of a low-ranking yakuza family in Tokyo, faces an 18-year prison sentence after taking the fall for a crime he didn't commit. Never losing faith, he loyally serves his time and returns to society to discover that no one was waiting for him on the outside, and his clan has been destroyed by the man he respected most.
Confused and alone, he embarks on a mission to discover the truth behind his family's betrayal and take his life back, becoming an unlikely hero for the city’s outcasts on his journey.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a breath of fresh air for the series, thanks to its incredible protagonist, Kasuga Ichiban. He’s one of the best protagonists I’ve ever seen, offering a perfect mix of hilarious and heartfelt moments that make you truly care about his journey. The shift to turn-based combat was a risky move, but it paid off brilliantly, adding a new layer of strategy and charm to the game. With its engaging story, quirky side activities, and unforgettable characters, it’s a must-play for both longtime fans and newcomers.

Switching to turn-based combat was a bold move, but it totally worked for me. Ichiban is such a great protagonist—his mix of heart and goofiness really carries the game. The story hits hard while still being hilariously absurd. Who knew Mario Kart... I mean Dragon Kart would be soo much fun inside Yakzua.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon switches up the formula with turn-based combat and a whole new cast, but Ichiban Kasuga is an absolute legend. The story’s over-the-top, the side activities are wild, and the humor hits every time. It’s a departure from the series, but it’s still got that Yakuza charm. A great game for newcomers and veterans alike.

A very entertaining story which doesn't take itself too seriously. The game world is very well designed and there is also good variation to the gameplay.
