Adding to its library of superhero games, Warner Bros. Games brings DC Worlds Collide, a mobile free-to-play squad-based RPG featuring several of DC's most iconic characters. While the game was previously released in specific regions, DC Worlds Collide is now available worldwide on Android and iOS devices, as well as Google Play Games for PC.

The Best War Games recently saw a preview of some of DC Worlds Collide's features, including its numerous game modes, extensive roster, and more. In DC Worlds Collide, the Crime Syndicate, an evil counterpart of the Justice League from an alternate universe, has invaded Earth. The premise is inspired by memorable DC Comics events like Trinity War and Forever Evil, but Warner Bros. Games explained that DC Worlds Collide is its own story. According to the development team, the game aims to give players unlimited entertainment while also feeling instantly accessible, regardless of whether fans have played the genre before.

6 Best DC Mobile Games, Ranked

For fans of DC superheroes who are always on the go, these excellent DC mobile games are both portable and a ton of fun.

There's Always Something to Do in DC Worlds Collide's Suite of 12 Game Modes

DC Worlds Collide offers 12 game modes with turn-based PvP and PvE combat, puzzles, exploration, and others. Out of this list, six modes take the spotlight as the most substantial endgame content. Starting with "Evil Falls," where players' five-member squads take on the members of the Crime Syndicate as bosses that reset every other day. Another mode is "Convergence," which transports players to different cities from the DCU to complete challenges. However, these combat trials have restrictions that will require more strategizing from players. For example, only certain characters can enter combat, pushing fans to build their parties accordingly. Players can also try "Crisis Watch" and overcome weekly-themed battles with specific rule sets to get all the points.

The game also offers "Warworld," its PvP hub divided into three arenas. The first consists of ranked 5v5 battles with players claiming rewards as they rise through the ranks. Next is the Elite Arena, comprised of 15v15 matches that reset biweekly. Finally, the Victor's Arena gathers the top 64 players from Elite to compete for the number one spot in the bracket.

Another challenging mode is "Digital Universe," where players explore a maze by traversing through portals, solving puzzles, and choosing their battles carefully to reach the end. Finally, "Exploration" mode is DC Worlds Collide's narrative-driven section. Players can follow small storylines that encourage puzzle and mystery-solving while meeting fan-favorite DC characters. It is worth noting that the game also offers five additional minigames and seasonal events. The latter includes character releases as well as holiday engagements. DC Worlds Collide players can expect events related to Batman Day, New Year's Eve, among others.

DC Worlds Collide Offers a Huge Playable Roster at Launch

An important element in DC Worlds Collide is collecting characters to build the strongest teams possible. The game has over 70 recruitable superheroes and supervillains, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, King Shark, and Captain Cold. However, the roster also features some more niche DC characters, like Pandora and Doctor Phosphorus. Units have different abilities, classes, and traits that will produce unique synergies in combat. Some examples of synergies are Burn, Bleed, Area of Effect, and Frostbite.

Players can obtain characters through the Motherbox, and rarer units will receive rate boosts periodically. Additionally, players can claim a free copy of Harley Quinn to commemorate over five million pre-registrations, which will give them a head start when building their squads. According to DC Worlds Collide, each character has its own customized animations and visuals tied to its lore for an authentic DC game experience.

There are also over 20 collectibles available, like the Batmobile and the Lasso of Truth. These might be instantly recognizable to players, but other lesser-known artifacts like the Haunted Tank may appeal to diehard DC fans. Collectibles can be equipped to characters for increased stats and power-ups as well.

Warner Bros. Games has already planned a road of seasons for DC Worlds Collide. Players can expect continuous character releases in later updates, starting with an alternate version of the Man of Steel taken from James Gunn's upcoming Superman film. Other major names from the movie coming to DC Worlds Collide are Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner, and Krypto.
