Dead by Daylight's 2v8 Mode Killer Powers Explained

Dead by Daylight's new 2v8 mode introduces Team Powers that allow killers to boost themselves and one another on the chaotic battlefield.

Even with an extra set of hands and a greater number of generators to complete, the pressure is still on for the two Killers to hunt down and kill all eight Survivors. Rather than choosing from all the perks they have unlocked, Killers now have skills to help streamline the experience, allowing them to focus more on the killing.

13 Nurse Team Skill

Gains a Token When Close to the Other Killer

Dead by Daylight Nurse Team Skill
  • While within 16 meters of the other Killer, The Nurse is granted +1 Token towards her Power.
    • This Token is lost once The Nurse is no longer in range and cannot be saved.

Team skills usually grant one or both Killers something when they are working together, and in the Nurse's case, she gains a token that allows her to use her power when close to the other Survivor. But this is simply not as useful as other team skills as the token cannot be saved, and is lost once the Nurse is not in range of the other Killer. Unless the Nurse immediately consumes the token, they gain nothing from this skill.

12 Shared Killer Skill 2.2

A Skill Focused on Generator Regression

Dead by Daylght Shared Killer Skill 2.2
  • Performing the Damage Generator Action increases the Regression speed of that Generator by +200 %.

Generator regression can be a useful factor in trials, as it can heavily stall Survivors and allow the Killer more time to find and down Killers. In the 2v8 mode, there is a shared Killer skill that can cause generator regression of up to 200%, which is a not-so-insignificant number. But in a mode where there is a greater number of Survivors and a greater number of generators they can dedicate their time, Killers might find this doesn't slow their opposition down as much as they hoped.

11 Wraith Innate Skill

Increases Speed For the Wraith

Dead by Daylight Wraith Innate Skill
  • Increases the Cloaking speed by +22 %.
  • Increases the Uncloaking speed by +22 %.
  • Increases Movement speed while Cloaked by +9 %.

Dead By Daylight: Best Builds For The Wraith (2025)

Easy to learn and difficult to master, The Wraith in Dead by Daylight can use these powerful perks to complement his power.

Each Killer has an innate Skill that benefits only them, to give them a unique edge in trials so no two Killers feel the same. An important part of Wraith's base kit is his mobility, as he needs to move quickly to catch Survivors unaware. As such, his innate skill allows him to cloak and uncloak quickly, and move faster while cloaked. But, the movement speed only kicks in while he is cloaked, which is when he can't interact with Survivors.

10 Shared Killer Skill 2.1

Damaging a Generator Can Potentially Unveil Survivors

Dead by Daylight Shared Killer Skill 2.1
  • After performing the Damage Generator Action, all Survivors within 20 meters of it suffer from the Revealed Status Effect for 5 seconds.

Damaging a generator is an important action that should not be discarded by Killers, especially in this mode when Survivors can quickly burn through their objectives. This shared skill adds something extra to this skill, as it could potentially unveil the auras of Survivors. If there are any hiding within 20 meters, waiting for the Killer to move on, they will instead be detected and chased away. But, there are times when Killers won't gain any information, either because the Survivors have left the area, or are hiding nearby in lockers.

9 Hillybilly Innate Skill

Renders Hillbilly Unable to Down Survivors in One Hit

Dead by Daylight Hillbilly Innate Skill
  • The Chainsaw no longer deals double damage.
  • Increases the Turn rate of the Chainsaw by +44 %.
  • Reduces the Cool-down time after hitting an obstacle during a Chainsaw Sprint by -12 %.

One of Hillbilly's strengths is his deadly chainsaw, which allows him to quickly cover great distances, and down any Survivor he comes into contact with. 2v8 changed Hillbilly's kit, changing his ordinary Killer power to an innate skill. Now, his chainsaw no longer immediately downs Survivors, but the trade-off means he can turn with greater ease, and his cooldown is decreased. But for most Killers, the trade-off just isn't enough to warrant the removal of double damage.

8 Shared Killer Skill 1

A Chase Perk that Burns Bright but Brief

Dead by Daylight Shared Killer Skill 1
  • When entering a Chase, the targeted Survivors all suffer from the Revealed Status Effect for 5 seconds or until the other Killer comes within 16 meters of their location, whichever is shorter.

Chases in 2v8 mode should be cut short, as Killers have twice the number of Survivors to try and kill, and this shared Killer skill can aid with this. It allows both Killers to see their aura so that the two Killers can tag-team the one Survivor. But after 5 seconds, or the second Killers come within 16 meters, they then lose this information, which prevents it from being a powerful skill. Plus, Killers can use scratch marks or pools of blood to follow their trail.

7 Trapper Innate Skill

Traps Can Be Set Up More Quickly

Dead by Daylight Trapper Innate Skill
  • The Trapper starts the Trial with 4 Bear Traps equipped with an additional 8 Bear Traps spawning in the environment.
  • Neither The Trapper nor the other Killer can be caught in Bear Traps.
  • Increases the Setting speed of Bear Traps by +50 %.
  • Increases the Escape time from Bear Traps by +25 %.

Dead By Daylight: Best Builds For The Trapper (2024)

Slow and meticulous, The Trapper must lure Survivors into his web in order to win in Dead by Daylight. To that end, these two builds can help.

Trapper is one of the few set-up Killers in the game, and the only one in this mode. His kit revolves all around those bear traps that can ensnare an unsuspecting Survivor, leaving them at the mercy of the Killer. This usually means the Trapper has a slow start to the game as he will be busy trapping vaults, and buildings, and placing them where Survivors might have a hard time seeing them. His innate skill does allow him to set up with great efficiency, but Survivors can repair generators with greater speed in this mode, which totally balances out this set-up speed. Trapper just needs to hope they step into his traps, and that their Killer buddy can keep the pressure up in the meantime.

6 Huntress Innate Skill

Becomes Faster Moving, Throwing and Reloading

Dead by Daylight Huntess Innate Skill
  • The Huntress starts the Trial with 10 Hunting Hatchets equipped.
  • Increases Movement speed while out of Hatchets by +4.5 % to ~4.6 m/s.
  • Increases Movement speed during the Wind-up Phase by +5 %.
  • Reduces the Reload time at Lockers by -20 %.
  • Reduces the Cool-down time between successive Hatchet throws by -20 %.

Huntress is one of the ranged Survivors in the game, able to injure Survivors by throwing hatchets even from great distances. Skilled Huntress players can easily dominate a match, depending on the map and skills of the Survivors. With so many Survivors to catch, Huntress is granted additional hatchets, and everything she does in the match is granted a small bonus to her speed. This allows her to throw hatchets with greater frequency, and reload faster. But, unless players are confident with Huntress, these bonuses won't make much of a difference to their performance in the trial.

5 Huntress Team Skill

Allows Killers to See Injured Survivors

Dead by Daylight Huntress Team Skill
  • Survivors hit by Hunting Hatchets suffer from the Revealed Status Effect for 5 seconds.

Revealing Survivors means that both Killers can see their auras, allowing them to team up to down the Survivor without mercy. In a game as chaotic and fast-paced as 2v8 mode, working together for one Survivor is sometimes a necessity. As such, the Huntress team skill can be used effectively, especially for two Killers who can't communicate with each other via comms. But, voice chat can simply offer the same benefit as this skill.

4 Nurse Innate Skill

Gains the Biggest Number of Benefits

Dead by Daylight Nurse Innate Skill
  • Increases the range of the Lunge Attack after a Blink by +30 %.
    • This range is further increased by an additional +30 % per Chain Blink, up to a combined total of +90 %.
  • Reduces the duration of Fatigue by -7 %.
  • Reduces the duration of the additional Fatigue gained from Chain Blinks by -65 %.
  • Reduces the duration of the additional Fatigue gained from missed Special Attacks by -0.5 seconds.
  • Teleporting within 1 meter of a Survivor causes them to scream.
  • Increases Movement speed during a Chain Blink by +30 %.
  • Extends the Chain Blink Window by +0.2 seconds.

Nurse is one of the toughest Killers to get to grips with, as players need to learn how to reliably teleport to hit Survivors and not become too hampered by the fatigue. But the latter becomes less of an issue in 2v8 mode, as her fatigue is reduced. On top of this, Nurse can blink quicker and lunge further when attacking post-blink to make it easier for Killers who might have just missed the mark with their teleport. But this skill ceiling with Nurse is still tough, and even with these innate skills players might need to practice to play her effectively.
