Dead by Daylight is known for collaborating with various franchises to bring a fresh and thrilling multiplayer experience to players. Most recently, "The Animatronic," aka Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's, officially joined Dead by Daylight's roster as a playable killer.

In Five Nights at Freddy's lore, Springtrap is a yellow bunny animatronic possessed by serial killer William Afton and serves as the main antagonist of the third game. Because of his terrifying design, Springtrap fits well as a Dead by Daylight killer who's hunting down and even jump-scaring survivors on the map. Now that Dead by Daylight officially collaborated with Five Nights at Freddy's, it's only a matter of time before it turns its sights on another popular mascot horror title.

The way that Dead by Daylight added Springtrap to the game may raise a few questions about the killer for longtime fans to consider.

Poppy Playtime Could Have a Spot in Dead by Daylight

First released in 2021, the first chapter of Poppy Playtime made waves because of the terrifying Huggy Wuggy chase. The interest in the series continued to grow as developer Mob Entertainment released three more chapters and other interactive materials that explore the series' lore even further. Poppy Playtime is often compared to Five Nights at Freddy's because of how it turns cute mascots into hostile monsters. Both games also have similar lore, as Poppy Playtime sees kids being experimented on and turned into toys, while the animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy's are possessed by dead children.

However, Poppy Playtime's colorful cast of characters still stands out because they have different personalities and unique designs. Plus, considering the massive success of the series so far, Dead by Daylight could take this opportunity to do a Poppy Playtime crossover in the future. There are already a number of characters that could be good killer candidates, like Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, CatNap, and Doey the Doughman.

In terms of popularity, Huggy Wuggy could potentially be the top choice to turn into a Dead by Daylight killer. While he's portrayed as a tall monster in Poppy Playtime, he could be scaled down a bit so he could seamlessly fit into Dead by Daylight's maps. Developer Behaviour Interactive could also have fun with Huggy's in-game interactions when attacking and catching survivors, like adding the same jump scare animation whenever Poppy Playtime's protagonist gets caught.

Huggy could be given the ability to quickly crawl under barricades as well, referencing the fact that he chases players in a vent, a similarly tight space.

Dead by Daylight Could Bring Poppy Playtime's Factory to Life

Similar to the Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria map from the Five Nights at Freddy's crossover, a Poppy Playtime collaboration could also call for a customized Dead by Daylight map. The Playtime Co. Factory is already a scary location to explore, and survivors can solve puzzles to reach generators across the map. The prison and orphanage areas in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 could be great locations for Dead by Daylight, as they're key areas for the series that are terrifying to explore because they're mostly shrouded in darkness. It would also be cool if Dead by Daylight could bring the Grabpack mechanic to the game, so players can use it to open doors, jump over obstacles, or start up generators like in Poppy Playtime.

Dead by Daylight pulling the trigger on a Poppy Playtime crossover could also come in time for the latter's next chapter. Many believe that Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 might be the final game in the series because the Prototype - a foe that has constantly lurked in the background - could serve as its boss enemy. At the same time, Huggy is shown surviving his early death at the end of Chapter 4, so he will likely have another important role in the next Chapter. If Dead by Daylight were to turn Huggy into a playable killer, it would definitely be some good promotion for the series' fifth chapter.
