Taurie Cain is the latest Survivor to join the ranks of Dead by Daylight, and her perks are as unique as she is. With the game having recently celebrated its eighth anniversary, it's impressive that Dead by Daylight still has plenty of new ideas in the works. The Doomed Course chapter shows that with Taurie as well as its upcoming killer, The Houndmaster. However, Taurie's perks could end up making some of the biggest splashes out of everything to come in the chapter. Taurie Cain could end up bringing a few new approaches to Survivor strategy in Dead by Daylight.

In Dead by Daylight's Doomed Course chapter, players will encounter Taurie Cain, the latest Survivor to enter the Fog. So far, Taurie is the only Survivor that could really be considered evil among her peers. Born and raised in a cult that worships The Entity, Taurie was a firm believer who never questioned them or their tactics. Eventually, she was set to sacrifice someone in a ritual in order to become a Killer and serve The Entity. Instead, she hesitated and was taken into The Fog as a Survivor.

Taurie's Perks Give Survivors a Selection of Eclectic New Abilities

Clean Break is a Self-Healing Perk With a Risk

Clean Break is like an inverse of a useful Dead by Daylight Survivor perk, For the People. The player can use Clean Break while being healed, ending the healing action and causing the user to be broken for 60 seconds at max level. After that time has elapsed, they will be healed back to full health. This cuts down on the time that the player's allies will have to spend healing them, albeit with a risky trade-off. Clean Break has the potential to save teams a lot of time in trials, but a mistimed play could lead to disaster for the user.

Invocation: Treacherous Spiders Provides Survivors With a Killer Radar

Invocation: Treacherous Crows is the game's second Invocation perk, continuing one of Dead by Daylight's newer perk designs. After spending 60 seconds working on a magic circle in the basement, Treacherous Crows will cause the Killer's aura to be visible for up to two seconds every time they disturb a crow while any Survivor is in their terror radius. The crows' presence on the map ensures that Treacherous Crows would be sure to trigger at least a few times per match, providing valuable information. That said, it does have the same downside as Invocation: Weaving Spiders , injuring the user for the rest of the trial.

Combined with Trevor's Eyes of Belmont, Invocation: Treacherous Crows can reveal the killer's aura for up to five seconds at a time.

Shoulder the Burden Can Extend an Ally's Lifespan

Shoulder the Burden is one of the most unique perk designs in the game. The Survivors in Dead by Daylight should avoid being hooked at all costs, but Shoulder the Burden adds an odd twist. Once per trial, a player equipped with Shoulder the Burden can not only unhook a Survivor but transfer one of that Survivor's hook states to themselves. This effectively grants the unhooked Survivor an extra life at the expense of the user. For experienced and skilled Survivors, Shoulder the Burden could be a huge advantage. No other perk manipulates hook states in this way, so it will be worth keeping an eye on.

Taurie's perks have the potential to unlock some unusual new strategies and combos in Dead by Daylight. With so many perks in Dead by Daylight, it can be easy for many to get lost in the shuffle. Still, Taurie's perks are all useful in wildly different ways, so she could have something to offer several different playstyles.
