Summary

  • Trevor Belmont brings unique perks to Dead by Daylight, offering strategic advantages for skilled players.
  • Castlevania chapter adds iconic characters like Dracula, fitting the game's gothic atmosphere and expanding crossovers.
  • Trevor's perks like Exultation and Eyes of Belmont show promise, while Moment of Glory may see less use due to requirements.

Trevor Belmont's entry into Dead by Daylight not only completes a major crossover, it brings a few new perks for the game's Survivors. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Dead by Daylight's Survivors, Trevor won't be engaging in the same whip-wielding heroics that he did in Castlevania. That won't keep him from being a valuable addition to the Survivor roster though. His trio of perks includes a few rather unique selections that will be interesting to see as he enters the game. Trevor Belmont's perks deserve some extra attention upon his debut as one of Dead by Daylight's Survivors.

With the Castlevania chapter in Dead by Daylight, the game is adding another set of iconic characters to its roster with Trevor and Dracula. Although the Castlevania games are not specifically horror titles, their gothic atmosphere as well as the presence of Dracula make them a good fit for Dead by Daylight. Not to mention, it adds to the impressive number of crossovers that Dead by Daylight has amassed to date. Dracula and his new Killer gameplay are sure to make waves in Dead by Daylight's metagame, as all new Killers do. However, that doesn't mean that Trevor and his perks should be underestimated.

Trevor's Dead by Daylight Perks Offer Eclectic New Effects

Exultation Provides a Unique Buff in Dead by Daylight

Exultation may not be the best Survivor perk in Dead by Daylight right out of the gate, but it's one of the most unique. With Exultation, stunning a Killer with a pallet will upgrade the Survivor's current held item in rarity and partially recharge. While some perks let players find upgraded items, only Exultation can upgrade their item on hand. Since it requires a pallet stun, it's a perk that will mostly benefit those who are already skilled at looping and pallet mind games. Exultation gives those players an additional valuable reward for putting those vital skills into practice.

Combining Exultation with Smash Hit will allow players to create plenty of distance after the pallet stun to keep themselves and their upgraded item safe.

Eyes of Belmont can easily remind players of a perk from Nemesis in Dead by Daylight, Lethal Pursuer. Like Lethal Pursuer, Eyes of Belmont extends all effects that let the user see the Killer's aura by two seconds. Since knowing the killer's locations is important information, Eyes of Belmont is a useful combo tool with other aura-reading perks. Ironically, its additional effect to temporarily reveal the Killer's aura upon completing a generator is less useful due to its short length, topping out at 5 seconds. Even with that in mind, Eyes of Belmont will be useful for Survivors running aura-reading perks.

Moment of Glory Offers Players a Difficult Self-Heal

Moment of Glory, despite its name, is probably the weak link of Trevor's perks. Like the perks that came with Lara Croft's debut in Dead by Daylight, it requires interacting with chests. After opening two chests, the user will become broken and unable to be healed the next time they get injured, but instantly heal themselves 60 to 80 seconds later depending on the tier. Despite Moment of Glory's healing effect, its activation requirement can be difficult to trigger because chests aren't plentiful, and the relatively long broken period is a notable downside. Out of Trevor's perks, Moment of Glory is most likely to remain unused.

Trevor may not have the Vampire Killer, but Dead by Daylight gave him a new arsenal of tricks. There's no telling what else the future of Dead by Daylight will entail, and how many more perks will be added. That future will probably see some decent usage from Trevor's perks either way. Exultation and Eyes of Belmont both have obvious utility at their disposal and while Moment of Glory is much weaker, it could still see use. Dead by Daylight should see something significant come from Trevor's perks.
