Dead by Daylight's latest update brings back the 2v8 mode, which was first introduced in July 2024. While licensed products and properties helped grow the game, the eighth year of Dead by Daylight introduced players to multiple experimental game modes, which allowed new mechanics to be tested. The game has tried to revitalize itself by trying out fresh activities that players can enjoy, and this includes the aforementioned 2v8 mode, among others.

The developers revitalized the game by introducing various modes such as Dead by Daylight's Lights Out, Chaos Shuffle, My Little Oni, and others. Some of these gameplay variations have been made available more than once at set times. However, it was the introduction of 2v8 that warranted fans' attention. The mode had long been fantasized by many players, and its debut in the game had many feeling happy with the developers' decision. It seems the newest Dead by Daylight update will give the community a chance to experience it once more.

Dead by Daylight's 2v8 mode will be making a return on November 12 and will end on November 26. However, Behaviour has shared that there will be new changes to the beloved mode. The most important of the additions is the ability to select new Killers. Joining the original selectable roster will be The Blight, The Spirit, and The Deathslinger. While the individual abilities for the added Killers weren't shared, the update mentioned that Killers will also now use four distinct classes, which are Shadow, Brute, Enforcer, and Fearmonger.

Two new realms will also be making their debut in the 2v8 mode. Dead by Daylight's Dead Dawg Saloon and Yamaoka Estate will be included in the rotation, which should help freshen up the experience even more. The choice of adding the aforementioned maps is very timely considering that these are considered as The Deathslinger's and The Spirit's areas, respectively.

In addition, a new Event Tome will also be active, and will include three exclusive cosmetic rewards. These include the Lovely Lounge banner, and the Comfy Cage and Cuddly Crow badges. Behaviour has really outdone itself in fulfilling many of the requests for the mode. The return of Dead by Daylight's 2v8 could cause a surge of players. This is also why the developers have left a small reminder that users could see matchmaking issues happen due to the nature of the online game. Killer queue times are expected to be high, so the dev team has mentioned trying to make the Survivor experience more rewarding.
