Dead Island 2 recently released a huge new update for the zombie-slaying game. Patch six for Dead Island 2 is currently available for download and adds two new game modes, a variety of bug fixes, and stability improvements alongside a balance tweak to the recent SoLA Festival DLC.

Dead Island 2 is an action-RPG where players fight their way through hordes of the undead in a hellish version of LA. Dead Island 2 players are able to select from six different Slayers to play as, each with unique builds, strengths, and weaknesses, while they embark on their zombie-hunting adventure. The game has seen a number of updates since its release back in 2023, each addressing various issues and fixing several bugs. A few past updates have even added in extra DLCs for players. The latest update for Dead Island 2 is giving players a healthy dose of both of those, adding in new modes alongside some much-needed fixes.

Patch six is officially live for all Dead Island 2i players. This Dead Island 2 update has been much anticipated since its announcement back in August as it brings the arrival of New Game Plus alongside an additional game mode, Neighborhood Watch. New Game Plus is available to players who have beaten the main campaign and lets them take on an extra difficult version of the game with no level cap. When starting a New Game Plus, a Slayer's level, inventory, and Skill Cards will transfer over, and it is recommended that players reach level 30 before diving into this extra difficult mode.

Alongside adding in New Game Plus, this patch for Dead Island 2 also brings the arrival of the Neighborhood Watch mode. This mode is a three-player co-op mode that mixes rogue-like elements with new shelter defense mechanics. The new mode is available to all players regardless of where they are in the main campaign and brings in several new game elements alongside some unique weapons for even more zombie-slaying action.

The final part of patch six brings various bug fixes and a tweak to the SoLA Festival DLC in Dead Island 2. The final Dirge encounter has had a slight rebalance, reducing the difficulty slightly for the fight. Additional stability and performance improvements have also been added to Dead Island 2 to help keep the game running smoothly for players.
