Capcom has revealed that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster's release date will be September 18, 2024. Since the announcement that Dead Rising was getting a remastered version, many fans have been excited at the thought of playing the game with a more modern engine and look. The upcoming title may be able to bring the series back to life.
More than eight years have passed since the release of the last Dead Rising title. Sadly, Dead Rising 4 did not live up to the expectations that the initial games had set. With many fans leaning towards the earlier entries in the franchise, Capcom may be listening to the clamor by running it back to a remaster of the first title.
As announced during Capcom Next's digital showcase, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will come out digitally on September 18, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A physical copy will come out sometime in November 2024. It will also come in two editions, the Standard and the Digital Deluxe Edition, with the latter coming out with bonus BGMs and costumes for Frank. The new game will introduce features such as moving while aiming, improved controls, and some auto-save functionality, among others. With many gamers considering Dead Rising as one of the most innovative games to come out, bringing it to the modern age of consoles with a fresh look and improved mechanics will help it stand out again.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Pre-Order Bonuses
- Frank West 2006 Costume
- Chuck Greene Costume
- Willamette Parkview Mall Bee Costume
- Dreams of Yore BGM
- Super Shopper BGM
- Happy Flight BGM
Not only that, older players who have experienced the previous entries in the franchise may be in for a treat, as all NPCs and survivor interactions are now fully voiced. Frank West, himself, has even gotten an updated actor. Some fans are hoping that new dialogues can be introduced, and that the over-arching story can be fleshed out even more. Many are hoping that Dead Rising 3 characters could be retconned to Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster to create a richer backstory. Simple suggestions by the fanbase such as changing the orphan names could help tie the remade first title to the others.
With many considering the first Dead Rising to be the best in the series, it seems Capcom is doing right by fans in releasing the original title in a remastered form. Granted, with the new features announced, it can closely be considered almost a remake. A previous collection of the first two titles, as well as the Dead RIsing 2 spin-off Off The Record, came out in 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One, but those were just ports. Many fans are hoping that the Deluxe Remaster can become a success, and could lead to the other titles receiving a fresh coat of paint in the near future as well.
