Wraith is one of the best gankers and split-pushers in Deadlock, and it's all thanks to her kit that lets her quickly take opponents out and disappear before things get too hairy. She's a fairly simple hero to play as, but to get the most out of her, players will want to use the best items available.

The following is a fairly standard Wraith build guide that focuses on improving her 1v1 potential against Deadlock's other heroes while also letting her scale well into the late game as a Gun-based hypercarry.

Here's the best way to build Seven from an ineffectual, angry robot into a murderous mechanical lightning storm on two legs.

Best Wraith Items In Deadlock

Wraith relies on both Gun and Spirit damage in order to deal the most DPS possible. However, her kit mostly skews towards the former. As such, this build aims to take advantage of both damage types by making use of Spirit items early on and transitioning into a Gun-heavy build for the mid-late game.

Lane Items

Weapon

  • Basic Magazine

Vitality

  • Extra Regen
  • Healing Rite (If losing lane)

Spirit

  • Extra Charge
  • Mystic Burst
  • Infuser

Take Basic Magazine first to help you poke and last hit minions. Players should almost always focus on farming Souls in Deadlock unless you're getting bullied in lane, try to buy an offensive item first. Otherwise, get Extra Regen or Healing Rite for extra lane sustain.

Extra Charge, Mystic Burst, and Infuser are here to help you bully your lane opponent away and possibly secure some kills. Buy these after Basic Magazine, or get Mystic Burst first if you want to go all-in on aggression. Once you get two or three stacks of Card Trick, pop Infuser, and throw all your cards at the enemy to blow them up.

Core Items

Weapon

  • Slowing Bullets
  • Tesla Bullets
  • Lucky Shot
  • Burst Fire

Vitality

  • Combat Barrier
  • Spirit Armor
  • Bullet Lifesteal

Spirit

  • Quicksilver Reload

These are the items players should aim to get as soon as possible when playing Wraith. These allow for significantly improved damage output, better AOE damage via Tesla Bullets, and instant reloads thanks to Quicksilver Reload.

Combining the rate of fire buffs from Burst Fire, Combat Barrier, and Wraith's Full Auto skill maximizes the amount of bullets players can pump into an enemy while they're suspended by Wraith's Ultimate, Telekinesis. This makes her similar to Deadlock's Haze, who capitalizes on her fast-firing weapons to secure kills.

Purchase priority is top to bottom, but if you feel like you need the extra survivability, feel free to buy Vitality items first. Sell the laning items one by one as you get enough Souls to get your Core items.

Players can keep Mystic Burst and Infuser as slot fillers until they can get better Spirit items. Additionally, if you're struggling with Souls, postpone Lucky Shot for Intensifying Magazine.

Situational Items and Flex Slots

The items you buy for your vacant and Flex slots all depend on how well the game is going. Here are some recommended flex items for Wraith and the situations players should buy them in:

  • Toxic Bullets: Causes bullets to apply a Bleeding effect that inflicts damage over time, as well as Healing Reduction. Buy this when the enemy has strong healing capabilities.
  • Leech: Great item to buy when you need more lifesteal.
  • Mystic Slow: If Slowing Bullets isn't enough to help you hit your shots. Effect will trigger with Tesla Bullet procs.
  • Inhibitor: Bullets will slow enemies hit and reduce their outgoing damage. Stacks with Mystic Slow and Slowing Bullets.
  • Titanic Magazine: Increases your ammo by 100% along with small improvements for Weapon Damage and Bullet Resist. Buy if Quicksilver Reload isn't enough to sustain your ammo in a fight.
  • Intensifying Magazine: Deal more damage as you fire your weapon. Synergizes well with Wraith's kit. Buy this over Slowing Bullets if necessary.
  • Curse: Silences, Interrupts, Disarms, and prevents enemies from using items for 3 seconds. Buy to counter the most-fed enemy on the other team.
  • Extra Stamina: Used for spamming dodge. Good if the enemy has a lot of skillshots.
  • Suppressor: Reduces the fire rate of enemies hit by your Spirit Damage. Great for countering fast attackers like Infernus and Haze.

Wraith Skill Priorities

Wraith's DPS on a moving training dummy in Deadlock
Deadlock Wraith damage output training dummy
  1. Card Trick - 1 point
  2. Full Auto - 3 points
  3. Telekinesis - 1 point
  4. Max Project Mind
  5. Max Telekinesis
  6. Max Full Auto
  7. Max Card Trick

For this build, put one point into Card Trick first to get three cards during the laning phase with Extra Charge. Then, upgrade Full Auto twice so it gets a shorter cooldown and a bonus effect that makes it deal Spirit damage. Then, put one point into Telekinesis to reduce its cooldown.

Afterward, max Project Mind first so you can always have an exit strategy for when things get dicey. Its second upgrade also gives you a Bullet Shield, which you can take advantage of when fighting other Deadlock heroes using max Weapon Damage builds.
