On May 3, Prophecy Games finally rolled out its first major update since Deadzone: Rogue's early-access Steam launch, which added the much-anticipated offline single-player mode to the shooter game. The studio revealed that this particular addition was the biggest priority for the team as it was the most-requested feature among fans. Talking about the newly added mode, the devs stated that it was "a large change" to their back-end system. While they vouched for the feature's stability, they also assured fans that they would be keeping track of the patch's performance in order to make sure the offline support worked as intended. Further, they confirmed that co-op mode would continue to be online-only. Based on SteamDB data, the latest update—headlined by the offline single-player mode—looks to have boosted Deadzone: Rogue's engagement, which reached a new peak concurrent player count of 7,229 players on May 4.

Besides the aforementioned changes, Deadzone: Rogue's patch version 0.1.1.0 introduced a brand-new mission titled "Uniform Chaos II" in Zone 2. As the follow-up to "Uniform Chaos I," it tasks the player with facing off against multiple enemy hordes, with a particular type of foe randomly spawning in each room. On top of this, certain gameplay tweaks aimed to balance Deadzone: Rogue's sci-fi shooter experience have also been rolled into the new update, including those concerned with how respawns work in the game. Moreover, the bug fixes bundled in the patch revolve around addressing the various weapon-related issues, boss encounters, and more.

With the latest update bringing a highly requested feature, players already have a major reason to indulge in Deadzone: Rogue's fast-paced FPS gameplay. If the studio continues to deliver such key updates promptly, it may be fair to expect the game's player count to grow steadily going into the future.

Deadzone: Rogue Patch Version 0.1.1.0 Patch Notes

Added Offline Single Player Mode

Players can now enjoy Deadzone's single-player mode offline, without an internet connection! This was our top requested feature, and the #1 priority for our team to deliver this week. We really wanted to address this for the community ASAP, and hope you can enjoy the improved experience this weekend!

Note: This is a large change for our back-end systems. We expect performance to be stable after internal testing, but will monitor the patch to make sure it acts as expected. Co-op mode will also still require an online connection, so players can share the same game experience in real time.

Added a new mission, Uniform Chaos II

In this mission, each room randomly spawns a horde of the same type of enemies to defeat. This approach builds on the Uniform Chaos I mission, and offers an even deeper level of enemy variety and challenge for experienced players. This mission can be found in Zone 2, we hope you enjoy it!

Thanks again to everyone for taking the leap into early access with us, and wishing you all the best!
