Fans are coming up with interesting theories about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, with some of the more popular ideas centered around BB and Elle Fanning’s mysterious character Tomorrow. A Death Stranding sequel was first shown at The Game Awards 2022, with its full title revealed during a PlayStation Showcase earlier this year. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will continue the story of Sam Porter Bridges and Fragile as they work to reconnect the world following a great disaster.
Just like the first game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will feature a full cast of celebrities and famous voice actors, with Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker returning as Sam, Fragile, and Higgs, respectively. Famed film directors George Miller and Fatih Akin will have their digital likenesses featured in Death Stranding 2, though different actors will voice their characters. The most intriguing addition to Death Stranding 2’s cast is Maleficent star Elle Fanning as Tomorrow, a mysterious girl recovered by Sam and his crew.
Death Stranding 2 Reveals In-Game Photo Shoot and Dance Performance Events
Hideo Kojima reveals that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will feature an in-game photo shoot mode and a dance performance event.
Not much else is known about Tomorrow save that she seems to possess some kind of psychic abilities similar to DOOMS, leaving fans to come up with their own theories about who Elle Fanning is in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. One of the more popular theories posits that she is an adult version of Lou, the BB unit that Sam partnered with in the original Death Stranding. Reddit user EugeneGoryachev thinks they found a clue pointing to this being the case.
Fans Think Elle Fanning is Playing An Older BB In Death Stranding On the Beach
The first Death Stranding’s 15th chapter was titled “Tomorrow is in your hands,” which the user thinks is a reference to Sam holding a baby Lou, the supposed past version of Death Stranding 2’s Tomorrow. Other Reddit users have pointed out that the phrase “tomorrow is in your hands” is used plenty of other times in the original Death Stranding, and that it would be on-brand for Hideo Kojima to sprinkle in this sort of subtle foreshadowing. This has led to even more theories about how Lou is shown as both an adult and an infant during Death Stranding 2.
On the other hand, some Reddit users believe that this could all be some kind of elaborate misdirection and that Tomorrow isn’t Lou at all. The truth about Tomorrow’s identity and her possible connection to Sam’s former BB partner will likely remain a mystery until Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches sometime in 2025, but in true Kojima fashion, the revelation will likely raise twice as many questions as it answers.
