How to Avoid Timefall in Death Stranding 2
Whenever you’re passing through an area affected by Timefall, you can choose to rush through it—but if the rain-covered zone is relatively large, it’s best to take caution and look for shelter. Safehouses and centres have Private Rooms that act as resting points where you can wait out the rain and also repair any cargo affected by it.
Similar to the first game, which featured a Weather Forecast Overlay, Death Stranding 2 also allows players to see the sections of the map affected by Timefall, so they can avoid those areas while traveling to a Distribution Centre with cargo.
Building Timefall Shelters in Death Stranding 2
After completing the third Order, you will unlock the PCC, which you can fabricate from that point onwards. It’s not until Order No. 5, “Defeat the BTs Near the Former Geophysics Research Lab and Deliver the Prototype MP Bullets,” that players will unlock the Timefall Shelter, which they must build using the PCC right before taking out all the BTs in the area.
The Timefall Shelters protect your gear from the rain, meaning you can drop your backpack and start clearing the area of BTs without worrying about cargo damage.
The Timefall Shelter in Death Stranding 2 also emits a BT-repellent mist, which causes BTs to avoid the structure entirely. This makes the shelters an ideal place to rest and wait out Timefall, provided there are no BTs nearby. Otherwise, you’ll need to clear out the BTs to make the rain stop.
