The first mission in Death Stranding 2 ends with a choice once Sam and Fragile reunite. The choice provided might scare some players, as it seems like it could have a weighty impact on the story. Fragile asks Sam if he will help connect Mexico to the Chiral Network, and his choices are: "I'll do it" and "I won't do it".
Does Your Birthday Matter in Death Stranding 2?
At the very beginning of Death Stranding 2, players will be asked for their birthday. Here's whether or not it matters and what it impacts.
Players might be curious to see what happens if they select "I won't do it," or they might simply want to know what they should pick in their own playthrough. Worry not, as this Death Stranding 2 choice between "I'll do it" and "I won't do it" can be found below.
Should You Pick 'I'll Do It' or 'I Won't Do It' in Death Stranding 2?
What Happens if You Choose 'I Won't Do It' in Death Stranding 2?
After players have safely gotten back home with Lou in the first mission in Death Stranding 2, they will be met by an old friend: Fragile. After a brief cutscene, players can select a few dialogue options with Fragile until they are met with a choice: "I'll do it" and "I won't do it". If players select "I won't do it", then the screen will go blank and restart the cutscene before this choice, where Sam is cooking food for Lou, and Fragile enters the base. After the cutscene plays, players are once again met with the same choice: "I'll do it or I won't do it", and if players once against select "I won't do it", the same cutscene plays again, but this time they only have one option to select: I'll accept the order.
This is an illusion of choice, as selecting "I won't do it" in Death Stranding 2 does nothing but result in a funny sequence as if the game has reloaded a checkpoint. It means nothing for the story and has no impact on any narrative decision, as players must always select "I'll do it" if they want to actually play the game.
