Everyone with social media knows the influence of likes, a digital representation of telling someone that they've done a good job or you're happy with what they've posted. The same is said for Death Stranding 2, where those on the Chiral Network can give each other a bundle of likes of gratitude, but what exactly does it do?
Death Stranding 2: How to Fast Travel
Fast travel isn't available right away in DS2, but once unlocked, it can save you a lot of time. Here's how it works and when to use it.
Likes are more important than one might think in Death Stranding 2, and while it's no popularity contest, it's still something to keep in mind as players explore the vast world available to them as they commit themselves to connecting humanity to the Chiral Network with each cargo delivery as a proud Porter.
What Do Likes Do in Death Stranding 2?
Likes in Death Stranding 2 are the measured stat that will be responsible for the player's Porter Grade, Connection Level, and make more equipment available. The higher the Likes that a player has, the more equipment they will have access to, and the more structures they will see from other Porters, both from NPCs and online players. In essence, receiving and sending likes will allow players to be more connected to the Chiral Network. Likes will reward them with more structures available in areas connected to the Chiral Network and grant them more advanced gear from NPCs.
How to Give and Get Likes in Death Stranding 2
Likes can be obtained in Death Stranding 2 through a variety of different ways, but the easiest way to get Likes without an internet connection is by completing deliveries. The better the condition of the cargo, the more likes players will get, and this can be increased further by the danger level. If players enter combat and defeat the BTs or MULEs involved, they will receive even more likes. Delivering lost cargo is also a great way to get more likes from NPCs. However, players can get likes from other online players.
Players can get likes from other players if they use structures that you have built, or if they have interacted with one of your signs that you have placed. Players can also give other players and NPCs likes for their structures, signs, and their SSS posts by spamming the Touch Pad, as they are not limited to giving out just one like. Players can give as many likes as they can spam the Touch Pad for during a time window.
