Sam has plenty of options for dealing with the dangerous BTs in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and one player has found a truly unorthodox weapon: his urine. Death Stranding 2 sees Sam strap on his Porter equipment once more on a mission to reconnect the world, all while dealing with personal tragedies and the many mysteries surrounding his allies and loved ones. However, the greatest threats to Death Stranding 2 players remain outside the confines of the bases Sam has to travel on his quest, be they ghostly BTs or the resurrected Higgs’s followers.
Death Stranding 2 is more action-packed than its predecessor, due in part to the complaints about the first game being a “glorified walking simulator.” There are plenty of weapons for fending off the dreaded “Beached Things” Sam encounters during deliveries, from returning favorites like Assault Rifles and Blood Grenades to new additions like the powerful Blood Boomerang. However, many Death Stranding 2 players might miss out on a strange yet effective method to taking out BTs that doesn’t require Sam to bring anything but a full bladder.
Death Stranding 2 Has a Hidden Mechanic to Make Your Life Easier
A Death Stranding 2 player discovers a handy (but dangerous) hidden feature for players willing to bend the game's combat rules while on a delivery.
Twitter user Synth Potato recently shared a Death Stranding 2 clip of Sam taking out an attacking BT by urinating on it. Just like in the first Death Stranding, Sam can empty his bladder while on a mission by selecting the designated option from the weapon wheel. If a BT is unlucky enough to be in the resulting stream, it will wither away as if it were struck by one of Death Stranding 2’s many BT-killing weapons, leaving nothing behind except for a holographic mushroom where Sam marked his territory.
Death Stranding 2 Lets Sam Pee on BTs
The lore explanation for this is that Sam has DOOMs, a rare condition that gives certain people a stronger connection to the world beyond the living. It also makes Sam’s bodily fluids deadly to BTs, hence why the first Death Stranding game featured grenades filled with his blood, urine, and fecal matter. All of this would be collected whenever Sam rested and showered in a private room, but Death Stranding 2 has Drawbridge use synthetic blood for the grenades.
Meanwhile, Sam’s DOOMs-infected urine is just as potent as ever for taking out BTs in Death Stranding 2. This tidbit might be useful when players journey into BT territory without any weapons, though they should be advised that Sam needs to have some urine to release for it to work. Fans will likely find even more interesting tricks and secrets while playing through Death Stranding 2, which has only been out for a few weeks as of this writing.
