A screenshot taken of the Xbox Series dashboard seems to confirm that Deathloop is indeed coming to the console at some point. When it was released last year, Arkane studios' game was noteworthy for its Groundhog Day style of time looping mechanics, and fans have been waiting for the game to get ported to the Xbox ever since. While this is something that is a possibility, there's been no official word from Microsoft about whether it's coming to the system. All players have to go off so far is this one hint, which admittedly is quite a big one.

When it was first released last September, exactly one year ago to the day, Deathloop was exclusive to the PS5, at least in terms of consoles as it was also released on PC, which meant Xbox users were missing out. However, with the game being published by Bethesda, with that studio being acquired by Microsoft last March, many have been curious as to how the title has maintained its exclusivity to the PlayStation 5 when the owner of the Xbox brand now owns the game's publisher. However, there's now a possibility that this could be about to change.

According to a recent report from VGC, Deathloop has been spotted on the Xbox dashboard, with an option to pre-order it. However, it doesn't appear to lead to the store page when clicked, and there's no word on a potential release date for the port. What is interesting, the report goes on to say, is that this ad has been noted on the one-year anniversary of the game's release on the PS5, concluding that this is unlikely to be a coincidence. The fact that Xbox's Phil Spencer has said in the past that the game would have a timed PS5 exclusivity for a year, and that deal is now up, strongly supports the idea that Deathloop is coming to Xbox Series X/S. This latest leak only seems to confirm it.

In fact, this is not the first a discussion on Deathloop coming to the Xbox to come about. Because of the aforementioned details about Microsoft owning Bethesda, and the game being made available through Game Pass on PC, Arkane's time loop release making its way to the rival console seems more like an inevitability than a rumor. But as mentioned, there's been no official confirmation on that at the time of writing.

Alongside this, there's also been a case for a Deathloop 2. The current game was one of the most anticipated releases of last year, being helmed by the developer of the Dishonored series as well as the reboot of Prey, both of which are well liked among gamers, so a follow-up is what some would like to see. When the game will actually come to the Xbox Series cannot be said, but all signs point to it happening soon, especially with the "pre-order now" message seen on the dashboard.

Deathloop is available now on PC and PS5.
