Wordle is a daily word game that was purchased by the New York Times Games in February. This game pits players against a mystery five-letter word once a day. In order to play this viral sensation, players will want to get familiar with the rules of how to play as well as a little strategy for winning Wordle.

The first thing players will need to do is choose a starting word. But in order to pick a good one, players will need to know the rules that Wordle answers follow.

Wordle answers are always five letters long and real words.
They are never proper nouns.
While they can be used as guesses, Wordle answers don't repeat and answers cannot be plural nouns ending in S or ES, like FOXES.
Good starting words have five different common letters in them, helping to get players as many clues as possible.

Type the word into the first row of the Wordle grid on the site or the app. Then, watch as the letters change colors. These colors give players clues to the real answer. Green letters are right, gray letters are wrong, and yellow letters are right but in the wrong place(s) in the word.

Players need to keep trying new words and getting new clues from those words' letters' colors. Every day, players have a total of six tries to get to the word of the day. There is a brand-new puzzle every day at midnight.
