Enjoying a steady player count into 2025, Deep Rock Galactic continues to entice fans with its winning combination of space dwarves, rock and stone, and frantic co-op mayhem. Although Season 6 is still forecast for the latter half of 2025, seemingly as Ghost Ship staff focus on the upcoming rogue-lite Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Deep Rock Galactic Season 5 is still offering updates for its committed player base.

Deep Rock Galactic’s Lunar Festival will launch on January 30 at 13.00 CET, giving gamers two weeks to enjoy the festivities until the event ends on February 13. In celebration of the Year of the Snake, gamers will be able to dig up hidden Golden Serpent statues to earn a double-performance point bonus for their whole team. Between missions, miners will also find the Space Rig decked out with new festive lanterns and decorations, and the return of explosive firecrackers will help drunken dwarves get the party started with a bang. Soon gamers will even be able to bring the festivities to the real world with a range of Deep Rock Galactic replica beer mugs as well.
Deep Rock Galactic Celebrates the Year of the Snake With The Serpentine Special Headgear
Two new assignments will be available, giving miners the chance to acquire both new and returning cosmetics. Completing the Lunar Festival 2025 assignment will grant players The Serpentine Special festive headgear, a slithering helmet befitting the new Year of the Snake and available for all classes. Gamers can also obtain missed cosmetics from previous Lunar New Year festivities by completing the Last Year’s Blessings assignment, which will unlock all older items of themed Lunar headgear at once. By allowing players to access old content from past limited-time events, Ghost Ship Games is reinforcing its player-first approach to handling unlockable rewards. This attitude was earlier reflected when Season 5 allowed players to access Deep Rock Galactic’s older Battle Passes, providing a refreshing way to reduce the pressures of many live-service games.
Between assignments, players can also now register for the GUNTOUCHABLES Closed Alpha Playtest, which will begin on January 29. Developed by Game Swing in conjunction with Ghost Ship publishing, GUNTOUCHABLES is an upcoming roguelike co-op horde shooter scheduled to launch later in 2025. Destroy everything around you to reach your goal. There is no set path so you can complete your mission your way. Drill straight down to your objective or build an intricate network of paths to explore your surroundings -- the choice is yours.
