Break, the new season for free-to-play multiplayer first-person-shooter Delta Force, is coming to PC and mobile on July 9, followed by the game's long-awaited release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 19. Developer TiMi Studio Group made both announcements during a preview livestream showing off new maps, weapons, operators, and features being added to Delta Force.

The Delta Force series dates back to 1998, receiving regular releases until 2009's Delta Force: Xtreme 2. The series remained dormant until its revival by Call of Duty Mobile developer TiMi Studio Group in December 2024 as a free-to-play, team-based tactical shooter with modern graphics and various playable operators. Delta Force quickly established itself on PC as a force to be reckoned with, reaching a peak of 131,000 concurrent players on Steam shortly after release, according to SteamDB data. As of this writing, Delta Force has reached a new all-time peak of 162,436 players on June 21.

Delta Force: Ranked Mode, Explained

Playing Ranked mode is a great way to push your limits in Delta Force, but it might not work the way you think it does.

Delta Force season Break arrives on PC and mobile on July 9, followed by the game's console debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 19. The new season brings a number of new content additions, including two new maps, three new weapons, and a new assault class operator for Delta Force called Tempest who comes equipped with enhanced mobility and a drill for disarming enemies thanks to her advanced exoskeleton. The new Operations map sees players infiltrating Tide Prison disguised as prisoners, which poses the additional challenge of breaking back out. Luckily, the new update also introduces swimming and diving mechanics to Delta Force, adding an extra layer of maneuverability to the tactical shooter.

The second new map is a Warfare-style battlefield called Cyclone. As the name implies, the map features a dynamic weather system that will force players to shift tactics on the fly to adapt to new conditions. Players can tackle these new challenges with an upgraded arsenal thanks to the addition of the compound bow, KC-17 assault rifle, and wire-guided missiles, all of which are suited for very different tactical applications. TiMi Studio clarified that some content will not be available on mobile on Break's launch day. On the flip side, console versions will have access to the Delta Force Black Hawk Down campaign mode on day one.

Player demands for Delta Force to come to consoles have been growing ever since the game entered its open beta in late 2024. While Delta Force won't be coming to last-generation consoles, the move to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S widens the door for the tactical shooter to a whole new audience. Players starting fresh when the game comes to console in August will want to focus on grinding for Weapon XP tokens in Delta Force as soon as possible if they want to get ahead.
