Team Jade has unveiled a new Delta Force operator, Raptor, coming with the game's next season on September 23. Despite some drama over its single-player Black Hawk Down campaign in early 2025, it's been a solid year for the free-to-play shooter, especially over the past season. Now, Delta Force players can get excited about even more, with a new operator and fresh gameplay updates just around the corner.
The current Delta Force season, Break, arrived on July 9, a little over a month before the title made the jump to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Break brought two new maps, an assault class operator, and three new weapons to the game, and that was before a major mid-season patch introduced even more content. With console players now joining the fun and PC player counts rising, Delta Force's user base is bigger than ever and won't have to wait long for fresh updates.
Delta Force Planning ‘Major’ Performance Improvements for Consoles
Team Jade details multiple major improvements coming to Delta Force on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 after debuting on consoles earlier this year.
New Recon Operator, Raptor, Is Coming to Delta Force on September 23
A September 7 video gave fans their first look at the new Recon class operator, Landon Harrison, also known as Raptor, who will arrive on September 23 with the new season, "War Ablaze." Raptor's gameplay centers around a drone, Silver Wing, which can mark all enemies in its field of view as well as act as a guided bomb if necessary. Raptor also carries an EMP grenade to disable nearby enemies' electronic equipment and has two tracking-centric traits. The first, Trace Tracker, reveals enemy players' recent footprints and information about the operators that left them behind, while the second, Trace Detection, warns players when an enemy is aiming at them. While Delta Force's Recon class can be tricky to play, this gear makes the class even more useful and powerful than before.
In addition to the operator, Delta Force's sixth season is introducing a new Warfare map, at least two new weapons, and a new vehicle, the F-45A Fighter Jet. When Season 4 of Delta Force came out in April, it introduced new difficulty modes and several new pieces of gear on top of the usual changes, so there could be more in store for the latest season, but fans will have to wait and see.
Team Jade has made some big changes to improve the game's multiplayer beyond adding new content. Between March 14 and March 20, Delta Force banned over 1,000 players for cheating, barring many of them for playing for over a decade. The devs have also promised major improvements to the console experience that will roll out over the next few updates and beyond.
