Delta Force reached a new peak of 198,735 concurrent players on Steam ahead of its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S release scheduled for August 19. The player resurgence comes following the recent Delta Force massive summer update, which brought a whole bunch of new content for players.

Delta Force is a popular tactical FPS released for PC and mobile earlier in 2025 following an early access period. While the series began back in 1998, it hadn’t seen a new entry since 2009's Delta Force: Xtreme 2—until the new game launched its open beta in December 2024. While the new Delta Force has struggled with its Steam rating (currently sitting at “Mixed”), it has been quite successful on PC and mobile, attracting hundreds of thousands of players after its release. And now, players have flooded the game following the recent huge update.

According to SteamDB, Delta Force has achieved a new all-time player peak of 198,735, surpassing its previous 190,038 mark. Its rise in popularity is likely due to the recent release of Delta Force’s major summer update, which introduced a wealth of content to the game, including seasonal events, rewards, and more. But developer Team Jade wants to continue celebrating the game’s popularity, announcing that Delta Force Invitational sign-ups are now open. The developer invites players from North America, Europe, mainland China, Japan, South Korea, MENA, LATAM, and the Pan-Pacific to join this eSports tournament for the Operations mode taking place on August 2. Players looking to attend the event can sign up today (July 16) via playdeltaforce.com for a chance to win $500K USD.

Delta Force Hits 198,735 Concurrent Players on Steam

As a live service game, Delta Force has been bringing new content to players throughout the year, though the Season "Break" update has been the most significant one to date. Released on July 9, the patch introduced a new summer pass with 20 Armament Voucher rewards, plus an Epic Weapon Appearance. Moreover, players who simply joined the game between 7/9 and 7/14 got the Rare Firearm Appearance: M249 - Shark Squad for free, and those who logged in 7 days in a row obtained Armament Vouchers, TurBrick, Firearm Appearance: M250 - Skynet, and more.

Additionally, the update introduced a new weapon, expanding Delta Force’s arsenal, and featured a collaboration with mobile RPG tower defense Arknights. Players can still join Operations events and Mobile Exclusive Operations events, while also enjoying the new store supply and tactical armament updates. As console players gear up to join Delta Force on August 19, the developer has a lot in store for players across all platforms.
