Summary

  • Players should try to obtain key healing items, like Revive Mint and Butler Juice, to heal at key moments in Deltarune.
  • The TV Dinner and Revive Dust are crucial for some of the game's most challenging fights.
  • It's also important to stock up on powerful items, like Darker Candy and Deluxe Dinner, to prepare for tough boss battles and enemy encounters.

Deltarune may be famous for being a whimsical adventure with lovable characters and mind-blowing plot twists, but it is still, above all, a role-playing game, which means that its turn-based combat is a key part of the gameplay experience. Though choosing to either Act or Attack enemies while avoiding their projectiles can be really fun, it’s also quite a strategic endeavor, especially when it comes to deciding which healing items to use for each situation.

Needless to say, Deltarune’s main setting, the Dark World, is vast, vibrant, and it hides a lot of secrets, including the locations for some really useful and effective consumables. The following eight healing items are the best ones in all of Deltarune, and any player who wants to overcome its biggest challenges should definitely seek all of them out.

8 Revive Mint

An Easy-To-Find Item That Can Revive Party Members

Kris and Ralsei find a chest with a Revive Mint - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 1: The Beginning
  • Effect: Revives a downed party member and restores all their HP

Reviving a party member in the middle of a tough battle is extremely important, which is why the Revive Mint has been available ever since Deltarune Chapter 1. When used in battle (as its name implies), this consumable will revive one party member and restore all of their HP, which can obviously be extremely useful in an intense situation.

Fortunately, the Revive Mint is relatively easy to come by across all four chapters, as it can be commonly found in chests gathered all around the different sections of the Dark World. Nevertheless, it’s recommended that players stock up on them, save them, and use them exclusively in the most challenging fights of the adventure.

7 Butler Juice

A Simple But Effective Item That Can Be Bought In Swatch’s Shop

Buying a Butler Juice from Swatch - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 2: A Cyber's World
  • Effect: Restores +100 HP

Since some healing items in Deltarune are very common and easy-to-find, players should definitely keep an eye out for them and collect as many as possible, just in case. Like all the other chapters, Chapter 2: A Cyber’s World introduced a fair share of new healing items to the game, with the Butler Juice being the absolute biggest standout.

This consumable not only restores 100 HP in the middle of the battle, but it can also be purchased at Swatch’s shop for just 200 D$, which is quite an affordable price. Stocking up on Butler Juices is crucial, especially during the final act of Chapter 2, which is filled to the brim with challenging enemies and bosses.

6 TV Dinner

The Most Common Healing Item In The TV World

  • Introduction: Chapter 3: Late Night
  • Effect: Restores +100 HP

Something really fun and interesting about Deltarune is that every single chapter has introduced its own collection of consumables that fit perfectly into the new section of the Dark World they take place in. Since Chapter 3: Late Night is set in the TV World, the easiest healing item to find and use is the aptly-named TV Dinner.

8 Things Deltarune Does Better Than Undertale

Deltarune, the spiritual successor to the beloved Undertale, improves on the first game in a number of surprising ways.

This consumable restores +100 HP and can be purchased at pretty much any shop or vending machine in the TV World, for either 250 D$ or 60 POINTs. Of course, it will be very easy to stock up on TV Dinners if players have managed to gather a lot of POINTs during Tenna’s chaotic mini-games.

5 Revive Dust

The Best Reviving Item In The Game

Kris and Ralsei find the Revive Dust - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 2: A Cyber's World
  • Effect: Revives all downed party members and restores +25 HP

There are not many reviving items in Deltarune, and while the Revive Mint is certainly very useful (mainly thanks to its commonality), there’s another similar (albeit single-use) consumable hiding in Chapter 2. Inside a chest in the Acid Lake at Queen’s Mansion, Kris and Ralsei can find the legendary Revive Dust.

What makes this item superior to the Revive Mint is the fact that it can revive every single downed party member, not just one, which can completely change the tide of battle. However, because of its rarity, it’s recommended that players save the Revive Dust for specific situations and use it at the last minute, like in the secret boss fight against Spamton NEO.

4 Darker Candy

A Better Version Of Chapter 1’s Most Common Healing Item

Seam's shop - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 4: Prophecy
  • Effect: Restores +120 HP

Chapter 1 of Deltarune introduced a consumable known as the Dark Candy, which could be found all around the Dark World and healed +40 HP. While it was quite useful at the beginning of the adventure, players naturally needed something more effective for the tougher, later chapters, which is why the Darker Candy was introduced in its place.

This upgraded healing item can restore +120 HP, and, fortunately for players, it’s also very easy to find. Darker Candy will become available at Seam’s shop in Castle Town after the party recruits 9 different Darkners. Once that requirement is met, it’s recommended that players give Seam a visit and buy as many Darker Candies from him as possible before diving back into the Dark World.

3 Deluxe Dinner

The Best Healing Item In The TV World

  • Introduction: Chapter 3: Late Night
  • Effect: Restores +140 HP

As easy-to-find as it may be, the TV Dinner (like most other healing items in the game) has a superior version that can be even more useful, and it’s simply known as the Deluxe Dinner. It can either be purchased at the Vending Machine for 120 POINTs, or it can be pulled out of the Ball Machine at random.

Deltarune: 8 Important Questions That Need To Be Answered In Chapter 5

As players await Deltarune Chapter 5, these lingering questions remain unanswered following Chapter 4's shocking conclusion.

The Deluxe Dinner restores +140 HP to any party member, which is obviously very practical. Due to its relatively simple obtaining method, it’s recommended that players buy and save as many of them as possible, especially if they want to heal during the fight against the excruciatingly hard super boss of Chapter 3.

2 Top Cake/Spin Cake

Two Effective Consumables Hiding Behind A Silly Side Quest

Mallius restores the Top Cake - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 1: The Beginning
  • Effect: Restores +160 HP (Top Cake) Restores +140 HP (Spin Cake)

While the process of collecting healing items in Deltarune is usually quite straightforward, some of them can only be accessed if the player completes certain side quests. Back in Chapter 1, Kris can find a piece of Broken Cake in the field, and, if they save it and carry it around for a while, they’ll eventually be able to fix it.

Mallius can restore the Broken Cake and turn it into a Top Cake, an incredible healing item that can restore +160 HP to the entire party. But that’s not all, because if the player returns the Top Cake to Top Chef, he’ll give them a Spin Cake in return, a consumable that doesn’t seem all that impressive at first, seeing as it only restores +80 HP. However, it does grow stronger each day, meaning that if the player saves it, the Spin Cake will evolve and heal 140+ HP to the entire party on any subsequent chapter.

1 Scarlixir

Affordable, Easy To Find, And Restores A Lot Of HP

Official sprite of the Scarlixir in-game - Deltarune
  • Introduction: Chapter 4: Prophecy
  • Effect: Restores +160 HP

The introduction of "Old Man" Gerson Boom was not only the biggest highlight of Chapter 4, but he also quickly became one of the best characters in all of Deltarune. While fans obviously appreciate his quirky personality and his impressive strength, it’s also very important to point out that he’s the main shopkeeper of the Dark Sanctuary, and in his shop, players can find the best healing item in the entire game: the Scarlixir.

This healing item restores +160 HP, which is a lot, with its only caveat being that it can only be used for one party member at a time. However, unlike the Top Cake, the Scarlixir is not a single-use consumable, and it’s very easy to come by, seeing as it can be purchased from Gerson’s shop at any point for only 450 D$. Only time will tell if the future Deltarune chapters will introduce a healing item more useful and accessible than this one.
