How To Get Chapter 4 Secret Ending

Hammer of Justice Boss Fight in Deltarune

You can get the secret ending in Deltarune Chapter 4 only after you find and beat the secret boss. The secret boss is the Hammer of Justice, who only appears after you solve the Golden Piano Puzzle. So, here's the complete order in which you need to complete tasks in order to get the Chapter 4 Secret Ending.

Solve The Golden Piano Puzzle

To find the Golden Piano, head to Gerson’s study room first. Then, you have to go through the top left door, and there, you’ll find a claimable bookshelf. Climb the bookshelf to the top and you’ll find a Golden Piano Sitting there. You’ll have to play the music tunes in the correct order to solve the puzzle.

To solve the puzzle, you’ll need to find a total of three music notes and piece them together in a complete tune. You have to backtrack to find these music notes and return to the Golden Piano once you have collected all the notes. After you play the music, the fireplace behind the old man’s desk will open up a secret passageway.

Enter The Passageway Behind the Fireplace

You’ll have to go through the passageway to enter a secret room. There, you’ll find an axe sitting on the desk. Susie will go ahead and try to grab the axe. However, the old man will suddenly appear and ask you to pay for the weapon.

However, you’ll realize that you cannot pay him after checking the price tag of $999,999,999. Then, Gerson will offer up the axe if Susie is able to beat his challenge. Once you accept the challenge, Gerson will transform into the Hammer of Justice, and you’ll enter the fight with him.

Fight The Hammer Of Justice

Fighting the Hammer of Justice is one of the toughest boss fights in Deltarune, but you can beat him with a proper plan. The only way to deal damage to the Hammer of Justice is to counterattack. He will turn your heart green and attack it with falling axes and hammers.

Keep dodging his attacks until you are able to use Rude Buster on Susie. However, he will parry your attacks, and you’ll need to parry back with the right timing. If you keep parrying, the boss will miss eventually, and you can finally damage the Hammer of Justice.

Get The Rewards From The Hammer Of Justice

If you are able to beat The Hammer Of Justice successfully, you will get rewards from the boss. Gerson will give you the Justice Axe, as well as the Shadow Crystal. If you are not able to beat The Hammer Of Justice, Gerson will still offer you the rewards. However, Susie will refuse to take those and ask for a rematch instead.

Chapter 4 Deltarune Secret Ending

After you get the rewards, Gerson will tell you the old story of the Lord of The Hammer. He will say that Susie reminded him of the Dragon in the story. Thereafter, the cutscene will end.

You can equip Justice Axe to Susie and keep the Shadow Crystal. The Shadow Crystals that you got by defeating the secret bosses in the earlier chapters have no use yet, but they are speculated to be tied to a secret ending of Deltarune in the future.
