Deltarune is a fun, episodic RPG where players take control of Kris, a human teenager who lives in a town inhabited by monsters. Although more chapters will be released at a later date, at the time of writing, only four chapters are available on multiple platforms. Since Deltarune is chapter-based and story-driven, many players are eager to know how long it takes to beat the game.

How Long Does It Take to Complete Deltarune?

As mentioned above, there are only four chapters in Deltarune currently. By sticking to the main story, these chapters took about 17 to 19 hours to complete.

That said, a full 100% completion run, where you're exploring every side area, finding every secret, and completing all optional content, can stretch your total playtime to anywhere between 25 and 35 hours.

Of course, individual experiences will vary. Your total time will depend on your playstyle, how much you explore, and how quickly you adapt to the game's puzzles and battles.

Here's an estimated breakdown of how long it would take you to complete each of the chapters in Deltarune.

Chapter 1 is an introduction to Kris, Susie, Ralsei, and the mysterious Dark World. It's a pretty short and sweet experience that took almost 3 hours to complete. There are unique Card puzzles that can be solved pretty quickly if you find the hidden clues, and one secret boss that requires finding three broken key pieces and having them repaired.

Deltarune's Chapter 2 adds a lot more side quests alongside the main story. The gang starts to explore the Cyber World, where they head to the Queen’s Mansion — a multi-floor, more puzzle-heavy dungeon.

Instead of cards, many puzzles involve spelling out words or phrases by stepping on letter tiles. There are also Annoying Mouse Room puzzles that increase in complexity. The main story can be completed in around 4 to 5 hours, but the optional side content and secret boss fight can add another 2 hours.
