How To Find Shadow Mantle Secret Boss

You can only find Shadow Mantle secret boss after you complete a series of puzzles in Deltarune. You will need to get an S rank on each of Tenna’s Boards, after which you can unlock the S Rank Door to play the minigames within. Each time you play the minigame, it will be different, and you’ll meet the Shadow Mantle the third time around.

How to Get S Rank On the First Board

To get S Rank on Tenna’s first Board, you have to get all four keys and score well in the cooking minigame. After you do this, go to the S Rank Door and head inside. If you go towards the left, you will find an NPC who will let you into the backstage area. You will find a minigame there.

Play The First Console Minigame

Interact with the board, and once it says "No Controller," you can go towards the right side of the room and find the controller lying on the ground. Pick it up and return to the minigame. You can now start the minigame, where you can level up by killing enemies. Once you hit level 3, you can go towards the right side of the map and chop the cacti.

You will find a new area after you chop the cacti. Clear out all the enemies and then go back to the forest. Start chopping all the trees down until you find a red treasure chest. You will get the Ice Key from the chest.

How to Get S Rank On the Second Board

After completing the minigame, you can go back to Tenna’s second Board. You’ll need to achieve S Rank here as well, just like the first Board. To do this, you have to collect all four photos, eat moss, and score well in the concert minigame. After you are done, take the S Rank Door again to the same place you played the first console minigame.

Play The Second Console Minigame

You will start a second console minigame, which is similar to the first one. You can get the sword early by entering through the hole in the wall, and you can use it to kill the enemies. Once you hit level 2, go towards the right, and you will find a river. You’ll spot a raft there which you can use to sail upstream.

You will eventually land where you can find a blue door. Use the Ice Key you got earlier to unlock the door. It leads into a dungeon, where you again have to kill enemies to reach the max level. Eventually, you will arrive at a room at the top, which features two trees that you can cut down. After you clear the trees, proceed to the left and find the room with the White Cloak.

The White Cloak will follow you into the battle, and now your attacks can freeze enemies. Keep moving forward, and eventually you’ll enter a maze. To clear the maze, take any path that the White Cloak follows you down. If it stays behind, you're going the wrong way. Doing so, you’ll exit the maze and proceed to a room with the Shelter Key. Take the Shelter Key, and the minigame will end.

Return To The Green Room And Play The Final Minigame

You have to return to the Green Room after some and Tenna and all the staff will have left. You’ll be able to roam freely while it snows in the Green Room. Now, go through the S Rank Door again to play the third and final minigame.

Susie and Ralsei will come with you this time, and you can find the sword eventually. Since there are no enemies, you’ll have to level up by stabbing Susie and Ralsei. As you proceed further into the city, you will encounter a barrier that can be broken. Go through the alley on the right after breaking the barrier until you reach the manhole.

After some time, you’ll find the NPC Toriel, who will lead you to the Shelter. You can unlock the Shelter using the Shelter Key you got earlier. Proceed into the Shelter until you meet the Secret Boss, the Shadow Mantle.

How To Beat Shadow Mantle Secret Boss in Deltarune

You need a solid plan for beating the Shadow Mantle secret boss, as it is very tricky. The boss has four phases and four attacks.

Attack	Effect	How To Beat
Bomb Attack	Throws a number of bombs, which explode in straight vertical and horizontal lines.	Stand at an angle from the bombs and you'll be fine.
Fireball Attack	Throws fireballs randomly.	Keep your distance and focus on dodging rather than attacking.
Meteor Attack	Throws meteors across the screen from top to bottom.	Go to the bottom of the screen and dodge left and right.
Friend Attack	Summons lots of enemies.	You can just one-shot each of the enemies and heal back up with the items they drop if your health is low.

As you progress through the phases, the attacks become more intense. They'll start to come more quickly, repeat a few times in a row, and during the final phase, the boss will use an enhanced version of each attack. However, the tactics for avoiding them remain the same.

Reward For Beating Shadow Mantle in Deltarune

You will get the Shadow Mantle Armor if you beat the Shadow Mantle boss in Deltarune. The boss will leave behind a treasure chest that you need to open. However, you have to walk outside the screen and re-enter with the real Kris to open the chest. Inside the chest, you will find the Shadow Mantle.

You can equip Shadow Mantle on any one of your characters to give them bonus stats. This is a key item to beat the Roaring Knight Secret Boss in Deltarune Chapter 3.
