Demon Slayer: 7 Most Important Characters In The Final Arc
These characters were massively important in the finale of Demon Slayer. Their role was primary to the story.
Some of these fights, however, stand out much more than others. Here is every fight fans can expect to see unfold in the Infinity Castle arc that will soon be adapted.
6 Obanai and Mitsuri vs Nakime
- Casualties: N/A
- Survivors: Obanai, Mitsuri, Nakime
The most underwhelming fight in the Infinity Castle arc is perhaps the encounter that Mitsuri and Obanai had with the new Upper Rank 4 Demon, Nakime. This demon was quite powerful, controlling the Infinity Castle and continuously teleporting the two Hashira away from her.
These two didn't manage to take down this demon, and the job would have to be completed by Yushiro, who takes over her body before Muzan ultimately chooses to kill her.
5 Zenitsu vs Kaigaku
- Casualties: Kaigaku
- Survivors: Zenitsu
Kaigaku and Zenitsu are two characters with a long history in Demon Slayer. They were both students of the former Thunder Hashira, Jigoro Kuwajima, and learned from him, although each managed to get a hang of Thunder Breathing differently.
However, Kaigaku betrays his former master and the Demon Slayers, and aligns with the demons, being made Upper Rank 6 during the events of the Infinity Castle, replacing the former Upper Rank 6 Gyutaro and Daki, who were defeated in the Entertainment District arc.
The fight between these two is actually quite a short-lived one. Zenitsu manages to easily outclass Kaigaku and behead him with his technique, Seventh Form: Honoikazuchi no Kami, one that he personally created. This fight made Zenitsu one of the few characters who were able to take on an Upper Rank by themselves, even though technically Kaigaku was quite weak in comparison to the other Upper Ranks.
4 Tanjiro and Giyu vs Akaza
- Casualties: Akaza
- Survivors: Tanjiro, Giyu
Fans have long awaited to see Tanjiro take on the Upper Rank 3 Demon Akaza for what he did to the Flame Hashira, Rengoku, a few arcs earlier. Akaza had Rengoku’s blood on his hands and Tanjiro is all in with Giyu to take this demon down.
Demon Slayer: 5 Best Battles In The Final Arcs
Demon Slayer has many intense fights, especially in the last two arcs of the series.
This fight is definitely one of the most unique in Demon Slayer, especially with its conclusion. Akaza is no easy foe in Demon Slayer, and he would even manage to regrow his own head after Tanjiro beheads him - a feat only Kokushibo and Muzan have shown in the Demon Slayer manga. What would be the end of Akaza is himself, instead of one of the Demon Slayers. He gets flashbacks of his human life, especially his beloved wife after Tanjiro beheads him. After that, he decides to simply end it himself to be able to pass on and reunite with his wife.
3 Muichiro Tokito, Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima vs Kokushibo
- Casualties: Muichiro, Genya, Kokushibo
- Survivors: Sanemi, Gyomei
The fight against the Upper Rank 1 Demon was one of the most intense ones ever in the Demon Slayer universe. Kokushibo is the biggest threat after Muzan himself. This powerful Demon can use Moon Breathing, a deadly Breathing Style that is not easy to dodge.
This fight started with Muichiro, but he was quickly incapacitated. It then saw multiple characters, one after the other, jumping in, notably Genya, Sanemi, and then Gyomei. This fight was definitely a group effort, and everyone had to be at their best to win. Muichiro and Genya both made honorable sacrifices and died to ensure the end of Kokushibo. Sanemi and Gyomei were the only ones left and had to immediately move on to the next fight - the final clash against Muzan.
2 Shinobu vs Doma
- Casualties: Shinobu
- Survivor: Doma
One of the first fights to happen in this arc is the one between Shinobu and Doma. Shinobu has a long existing grudge against the Upper Rank 2 Demon, Doma, for killing her older sister, Kanae Kocho. Going into this fight, it’s clear the Insect Hashira is no match for an Upper Rank Demon on her own, however, she still holds it together and fights to her best, making use of attacks such as Dance of the Centipede: Hundred-Legged Zigzag.
In the end, however, her strength isn’t enough to behead Doma and she gets killed and eaten by him. However, her sacrifice would eventually lead to this demon’s demise.
1 Kanao and Inosuke vs Doma
- Casualties: Doma
- Survivors: Inosuke, Kanao
While many fights in this arc were phenomenal, one that definitely stands out the most is that of Kanao and Inosuke vs the Upper Rank 2 Demon, Doma. This fight picks up immediately after the defeat of the Insect Hashira Shinobu, where Doma was eating her body. It starts with Kanao alone before Inosuke suddenly jumps into the fight to aid her
This fight holds tremendous importance to both Kanao and Inosuke. For Kanao, this fight means avenging her two sisters, Kanae and Shinobu, and for Inosuke, this fight leads him to discover that his mother died at the hands of Doma when he was an infant. In the end, it’s both of them who behead Doma, and all of this wouldn’t have been possible without Shinobu’s sacrifice that led to Doma getting poisoned and weakened.
