Due to the immense success of the movie, fans have been quick to call Infinity Castle the anime movie of the year, 2025. This makes sense, but another outstanding movie, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, just dropped, and it might be even better. While it doesn’t have Demon Slayer’s popularity, it might beat it in overall quality.

Every fan of anime was waiting for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return to drop this year. However, it was not the only highly anticipated anime movie of 2025. Just a few months after Infinity Castle, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is finally out in Japan. It has only been a few days since its release back on September 19, 2025, but it is already doing great numbers. It even dethroned Demon Slayer from its number one spot at the Japanese box office which it had a very strong grip on.

You misunderstand, Tanjiro I only despise the weak. I only spit on weaklings. Yes. Weaklings make me sick. It is the law of nature that they be weeded out.
While it still has far fewer ratings overall from fans, the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc movie already has a higher score than Demon Slayer, which is definitely huge and a big indicator that this movie has been received incredibly well. It might not surpass Demon Slayer in overall numbers, due to Chainsaw Man being a far smaller franchise, but it could still be the better movie out of the two in terms of quality, and in that sense, it can be called the best 2025 anime movie.
When Will Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Release Internationally?

While the movie, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, is already out in Japan, it has yet to be released globally. As with almost every anime movie, Japanese audiences get to watch the new movies long before anyone else. For Demon Slayer, fans had to wait a whole month for the movie to start releasing across Asia and two months for the full global release. Thankfully, the wait seems to be a lot less severe with Chainsaw Man.
International releases for the Reze movie have already started, with Hong Kong being one of the first to get this movie on September 24, 2025. It was followed by other Asian countries on September 25 and 26. There was just a week's wait, compared to Demon Slayer’s month-long wait. For the rest of the world, however, such as Europe and North America, the release of the Chainsaw Man movie will take a bit longer. European releases will start on October 22nd with France, and the USA follows suit a few days later, on October 29, 2025. While the wait does seem long, it will definitely be worth it.
In order to soothe the spirits of those it killed, and to make sure it claims no further victims, I will swing my blade down and lop off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer over the things they did as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is out in theatres now. Fans who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The remainder of the series will, however, be animated into movies, and m fans will have to wait for their theatrical release to enjoy them, depending on their country.
