Since the final arc will focus on Muzan Kibutsuji, the Infinity Castle will effectively be the last arc where we get to see different demons fighting against Tanjiro and the rest of the Demon Slayer Corps. So with that in mind, let’s take a look at every evil demon that is set to appear in the Infinity Castle arc, ranked based on their strength.

Spoiler Alert!

7 Demon Grunts

The Foot Soldiers

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle arc Demon Grunts
  • Rank: Unranked
  • First Appearance: Chapter 140

The first set of demons that Tanjiro and the other Demon Slayers who are trapped in the Infinity Castle will face are a group of unnamed demons. These are the foot soldiers that doesn’t hold any ranks or any special traits apart from their intimidating appearance and ridiculous brute strength.

According to Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, the demon grunts that roam around the Infinity Castle are about as strong as the Lower Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki. Tanjiro and his group used to have a hard time against such demons, but that is no longer the case. Every demon slayer in the Infinity Castle can slay these demon grunts with a single slash.

6 Kaigaku

A New Recruit

Kaigaku-Demon--1
  • Rank: Upper Rank Six
  • First Appearance: Episode 17

Kaigaku is the newest addition to the Upper Rank demon family. As seen in the previous season, it is incredibly hard to find demons who can withstand the rapid transfer of power needed in order to become one of the upper ranks. So the fact that they can find one demon that can become an upper rank in such a short amount of time is actually quite impressive.

As if that’s not surprising enough, Kaigaku also has an equally shocking past. You see, before he became an upper-rank demon, Kaigaku used to be a demon slayer. Not just any demon slayer, he was a swordsman who wielded the Thunder Breathing Style, just like Zenitsu. In fact, Kaigaku was actually Zenitsu’s senior. So expect to see an electrifying and emotional battle between these two.

5 Nakime

The Lady of the Infinite Castle

  • Rank: Upper Rank Four
  • First Appearance: Episode 26

Even though she is an Upper Rank Demon, Nakime is not as strong as the other upper rank demons. She can’t punch as strongly as Akaza nor move as fast as Doma. But that doesn’t mean she is weak by any means. After all, Nakime’s strength comes from her unique Blood Demon Art.

While almost all Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba seasons have had a good reception, some have done better than others.

Nakime’s ability allows her to create the eponymous Infinity Castle in a dimension separate from the real world. As the creator of the castle, she can do whatever she wants with it. From adding rooms to erecting walls to preparing trap doors, she can do it all. Most importantly, she knows the location of everybody within her domain and can freely guide them to wherever she wants them to be. Thanks to this, Nakime successfully separates Tanjiro and the Hashiras and forces them to fight against the Upper Rank Demons.

4 Akaza

The Unstoppable Brawler

Akaza-Featured-Image
  • Rank: Upper Rank Three
  • First Appearance: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie - Mugen Train

Other than Muzan, Akaza is undoubtedly the most recognizable demon on this list. After all, he was the one who killed the Flame Hasira, Rengoku, during the Mugen Train arc. And as expected, the Upper Rank Three is still as powerful and as bloodthirsty as ever.

In the Infinity Castle arc, Akaza will go against Tanjiro and the Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka. They will engage in one of the most thrilling battles in the series. Not only that, since this is Tanjiro’s only chance to avenge his mentor, emotions are running especially high during this battle.

3 Doma

The Heartless Killer

Doma6
  • Rank: Upper Rank Two
  • First Appearance: Episode 45

It is in the nature of every demon to be ruthless and bloodthirsty. This is true for low-level demons and the elite upper-rank demons alike. But when it comes to human consumption, no demons can compare to the Upper Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki, Doma.

Doma kills and consumes innocent humans just like regular humans munching on potato chips. To him, human beings are no different than snacks. Even Muzan Kibutsuji only kills when he has a good reason to do so, mostly to create more demons. That’s why it’s not an exaggeration to say that Doma is the most despicable demon in this series.

2 Kokushibo

The Greatest Demon Swordsman

Kokushibo reveals his full katana - Demon Slayer
  • Rank: Upper Rank One
  • First Appearance: Episode 45

Other than Akaza, who was already a martial arts nerd since he was still a human, most demons never bothered to learn any sort of martial arts. After all, their raw strength and their unique blood demon arts are usually more than enough to devour their opponents.

There is, however, one particular demon who spent the rest of his life honing his swordsmanship to the point that he is now one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, swordsman on the land. His name is Kakushibo. He is the Upper Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, one of the founding members of the Demon Slayer Corps, and the wielder of the Moon Breathing Style.

1 Muzan Kibutsuji

The Demon Lord

blood-demon-art-muzan
  • Rank: Demon King
  • First Appearance: Episode 7

Though Tanjiro and the rest of the demon slayers won’t get the chance to truly fight against Muzan in this arc, the demon lord will still play a major role in the Infinity Castle arc. After all, he is the one who opens the gate to the Infinity Castle, and he is also the one who closes it at the end.

Muzan is also the one who orchestrated the encounter between the Demon Slayers and his Upper Rank demons, through Nakime. All as part of his final attempt to eradicate Tanjiro, his comrades, and the surviving Hashira once and for all.

Mind you, Muzan is powerful enough to take them all by himself. But why bother wasting his energy when his subordinates can do that job for him? Even if by some miracle these demon slayers manage to survive, Muzan figured that they would at least be severely injured, which makes them an easy target to squash. But as we’ll soon see, things won’t go nearly as smoothly as the Demon Lord had hoped.
