Demon Slayer is, at the moment, the biggest anime release of 2025, and the most exciting anime series as well, largely thanks to its most recent movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return. This movie is the first in a trilogy aiming to conclude the Demon Slayer series. Fans know very well that with this movie, Demon Slayer is slowly approaching its end, but just because the Infinity Castle trilogy will put an end to the original Demon Slayer story, it doesn’t mean the franchise, as a whole, will end.

Demon Slayer has a lot more in store for the fans, from spin-off novels and manga to a short prologue with all the characters alive and living their best lives. Demon Slayer is simply too profitable a series to just die in 2029.

Demon Slayer’s movie trilogy officially kickstarted in 2025, with its first movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return. This movie exceeded all expectations and became Japan’s number 1 in history at the Box Office, as well as the biggest international movie in the US of all time. There are also tons of other records that the movie broke. The success that the Demon Slayer movies have had cannot be understated either, and fans know that two more movies are on the way, but they won’t be the end of Demon Slayer.
You misunderstand, Tanjiro I only despise the weak. I only spit on weaklings. Yes. Weaklings make me sick. It is the law of nature that they be weeded out.
The movie trilogy will indeed conclude the main story of the manga, up to the point of the defeat of Muzan and humanity’s new era, but there’s more to come after. Demon Slayer also has a final chapter covering the reincarnation of all the beloved characters of the show. It’s unclear if this will be included in the final movie or if it will be its own standalone project, but chances are that this will fall into the latter category.
Even this aside, Demon Slayer also has some spin-off series that might eventually be adapted into either movies or TV anime. Demon Slayer has a bunch of novels, covering extra details about the likes of the Hashira and Demons, and some even showcase great fights that fans would absolutely love.
December 21 Will Be a Big Day for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 was huge, and fans might learn the release date of the next movie on December 21.
Demon Slayer also has a lighthearted spin-off series, known as Kimetsu Gakuen!, and fans would absolutely adore this as well. This spin-off manga is set in a school and could make for a light anime series, if adapted.
Either way, it’s unlikely that Demon Slayer will die off after its final movie trilogy. The series is simply too profitable and has more potential, thanks to many other unexplored stories.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s first movie was such a huge hit that fans are already eagerly looking forward to the next releases with a lot of excitement. Sadly, it seems there is going to be a long wait until the final movie, even though official dates have yet to be revealed to the fans. It’s very likely Demon Slayer’s final movie will be a 2029 release, at the earliest, which means fans will have to endure a four-year wait after the first movie.
In order to soothe the spirits of those it killed, and to make sure it claims no further victims, I will swing my blade down and lop off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer over the things they did as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 is out in theatres now. Fans who don't want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The remainder of the series will be animated into movies, and fans will have to wait for their theatrical release to watch them, depending on their country.
