The following contains spoilers from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train was a visual spectacle that also captivated viewers with its engrossing storytelling. However, the highlight of the arc was the high-stakes battle between Akaza and Kyojuro Rengoku, which followed Enmu's defeat. The Flame Hashira put his heart into the violent confrontation as the Upper Moon attacked him ruthlessly. Ufotable did not shy away from capturing the brutality of the battle and laid bare the raw intensity of their clash. By the time the dust settled, Rengoku was pushed to the verge of death, having sustained life-threatening injuries.
Flame Hashira’s death in the final moments of the movie has traumatized Demon Slayer fans for years. But the Infinity Castle arc might just push things to a whole new level as it adapts a far more brutal battle. If Rengoku’s death has shattered fans, this Infinity Castle battle promises to give them nightmares.
Kokushibo is Set to Wreak Havoc in the Infinity Castle
The Upper Moon Will Slaughter Demon Slayer With Ease
- Muichiro Tokito Will Suffer Serious Injuries After Running Into Kokushibo
The Twelve Kizuki have played a central role in resisting and challenging the Demon Slayer Corps from the start of the series. As Muzan’s greatest ally, they pose a serious threat to even the best demon slayers because of their incredible powers and decades of combat experience. Every single battle involving a member of the Twelve Kizuki has been epic so far. This was also the case with Akaza versus Rengoku, as it showcased two extremely strong characters pushing each other to their limits and bringing out their best. One common outcome of such showdowns is extreme brutality and violence. The manner in which Kyojuro lost his life was horrific to say the least. But as Kokushibo faces Gyomei, Muichiro, Sanemi, and Genya, things might just surpass every other fight in brutality so far.
Upper Rank One has not fought anyone so far, and much of his powers are still a mystery to the fans. But in the Upper Moon meeting following Gyutaro and Daki’s death, he showed glimpses of the terrifying ability he possesses. Kokushibo sliced Akaza’s body as per his whims and fancies, and the Upper Rank Three seemed helpless. Considering how brutally Akaza murdered someone of Rengoku’s caliber, one can estimate Kokushibo’s overpowering strength.
I will stop your bleeding. Humans are so fragile. However... If you bleed to death... Or if his lordship doesn't approve of you... And you die... Then death was always your fate. In that case... You were no greater a man than that. Don't you... Agree? ~ Kokushibo to Muichiro Tokito
In the Infinity Castle arc, Muichiro will have the misfortune of running into Kokushibo first. With no one to support him, he will feel like a lamb ready to be slaughtered. Kokushibo’s presence alone will make the Mist Hashira shudder in fear and make him anticipate the worst. Even before Muichiro can do anything about his fears, Kokushibo will display extraordinary speed and accuracy to corner the Hashira. Each attack will be fatal and leave no doubt in Tokito’s mind that he can meet his end soon if someone does not come to his rescue. In just a few brief moments, Mist Hashira will be pushed to the verge of death, and as if to mock his combat prowess, the Upper Moon will offer to stop his bleeding.
However, Kokushibo won’t stop there. Just a few feet away from Muichiro’s brutal beatdown, Genya will contemplate attacking the demon, fearing for his life after witnessing what he did to one of the best Hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps. By the time Sanemi’s brother makes a move, Kokushibo will shock him with his incredible awareness and speed by appearing behind him. In just a few seconds, Genya will lose his arms and legs, leaving him completely incapacitated.
The Battle for Demon Slayer Corps’ Survival
Kokushibo’s Victory Could Be a Deathblow to Hopes of Defeating Muzan
- Sanemi and Gyomei will engage in a violent showdown with Kokushibo
Moments after Muichiro and Genya are pushed to the verge of death, Sanemi and Gyomei will arrive at the scene. The brutal nature of Kokushibo’s onslaught will leave even them with a feeling of overwhelming dread. With two demon slayers already struggling, Kokushibo’s battle against Gyomei and Sanemi will decide the fate of the fight in the Infinity Castle. The Upper Moon will remain just as violent against the two Hashira as well. But with Gyomei and Sanemi manifesting a mark, things will only get far more violent. Each attack will be filled with urgency and anticipation.
If Kokushibo manages to take the two Hashira down as well, the Demon Slayer Corps will become paralyzed. Meanwhile, Sanemi and Gyomei’s victory will be a monumental twist in the tale as Muzan will feel further cornered. Regardless of the outcome, the battle will be extremely violent and ruthless, with both parties doing everything necessary to kill each other.
