Not so long ago, it was confirmed that the Gintama Yoshiwara in Flames movie will be remade with brand-new animation. As the name implies, the movie is going to cover the Yoshiwara in Flames arc, in which Gintoki and his friends end up fighting Housen, who was known as the Night King of Yoshiwara.
Normally, Gintoki wouldn't have too many problems fighting him, but Housen was an Amanto, meaning he belonged to an elite race of aliens that had far greater strength than any human being. The arc is full of drama and action, so viewers are always on the edge of their seats. So, the remake makes a lot of sense. Fans would love to see all the amazing battles being remade in high quality.
Gintama Yoshiwara in Flames movie remake will be released on February 16th, 2026. At the time of writing, there is no information regarding the movie's availability on streaming platforms, but fans can expect that to change in the coming months. It may seem a ridiculous claim at first, but Gintama Yoshiwara in Flames is all-around better than the Infinity Castle movie. One of the main reasons is that Infinity Castle ended on a cliffhanger. The movie was focused on three fights in total, so the other characters didn't get too much time in the spotlight, which is why many fans felt the story was incomplete.
On the other hand, the Gintama Yoshiwara in Flames remake will cover an entire arc and bring it to a proper conclusion. Viewers won't have to wait for another movie to learn what happens in the fight between Housen and Gintoki.
Another noticeable issue with the Infinity Castle movie is the pacing. Ufotable adapted just 18 chapters and turned them into a movie that was almost 2.5 hours long. Initial predictions suggested that the movie would cover over 20 chapters. So, it was surprising to see the studio settle for 18. Gintama's upcoming movie remake doesn't have such issues, which is why viewers won't feel that it is too dragged out.

Based on the information available, it's safe to say that the next part won't be released until 2027. Ufotable began working on the first part for more than three years. If the studio is working on both parts simultaneously, then there is a good chance that the next installment will premiere sometime in 2027. However, if the studio is unable to spare the resources, Part 2 will likely be delayed until 2028.

There have been murmurs suggesting that ufotable wants to finish the Infinity Castle trilogy before 2030, which seems unlikely to happen. But if the rumors are to be believed, then the third and final movie will be released in 2030.
