The Infinity Castle trilogy is all set to adapt some of the most violent battles in the series so far. Since the Hashira are some of the best combatants in the Demon Slayer Corps, they are expected to play a crucial role in the war as the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. However, fighting Muzan’s underlings will be a perilous endeavor, as each one has been around for decades and has fought Hashira from different generations.

The Taisho Era Hashira are special since some of them have already manifested a mark. As they fight an intense battle in the Infinity Castle, not all of them have the same odds of survival. With the first Infinity Castle movie out, we already know how some of this plays out. Here’s how likely each one of them is to survive the battle.

Shinobu Kocho

Insect Hashira Takes on Doma in Infinity Castle

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 28
  • Anime Debut: Episode 15

In Infinity Castle, Shinobu Kocho is all set to face Doma with the desire to avenge her sister. But fighting a demon as powerful as the Upper Rank Two comes with its own challenges. As one of Muzan’s most ruthless combatants, Doma possesses an unparalleled fighting prowess that could send a shiver down the spine of the greatest demon slayers of all time.

Shinobu is expected to face Doma all alone, which makes the battle a serious threat to her life. Kocho is an incredibly talented demon slayer and understands the risk better than anyone else, but that won’t be enough against the Upper Moon. Her survival will eventually depend on how long she has to fight Doma alone. If the battle drags on and no one comes to fight alongside her, then Kocho might not survive.

Muichiro Tokito

The Mist Hashira Faces a Serious Challenge

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 44
  • Anime Debut: Episode 21

Muichiro Tokito is the only Hashira to take down an Upper Moon all alone. After manifesting a demon slayer mark, he has become significantly powerful, and his skill with the sword is unparalleled. His movements are so fluid that he was able to handle a brief sparring session with Igruo and Sanemi simultaneously.

Remember that boiling anger. [...] Even if I lose my memories, my body will remember that anger that will not leave me until I die. It's why I trained so hard that I vomited blood to destroy demons. And more... To eradicate them!

Muichiro’s only challenge in the Infinity Castle will be surviving Kokushibo’s initial onslaught, as he will be the first demon slayer to run into the demon. If he sustains life-threatening injuries in their one-on-one battle, then Tokito might perish. However, if he can handle him just for a few brief moments, then he might have a good chance of surviving the entire battle. But it is unclear how the fight might unfold.

Mitsuri Kanroji

The Love Hashira Will Fight Dide-by-Side With Iguro

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 44
  • Anime Debut: Episode 21

Kanroji is one of the two Hashira to have manifested the demon slayer mark in the current generation. However, even after she got the mysterious marking, she still struggled to put down Zohakuten alone. This is especially concerning since Zohakuten was just a manifestation of one of his many emotional states. Some of Mitsuri’s caliber struggling despite manifesting a mark might be an indication that she is not as strong.

Kanroji is lucky to be facing Nakime in the Infinity Castle. She will be fighting alongside a fellow Hashira, which increases the probability of her survival. But since she couldn’t put down Zohakuten, it is not entirely clear if she is capable of fighting an Upper Moon.

Obanai Iguro

Serpent Hashira Faces an Easier Battle

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 45
  • Anime Debut: Episode 22

Obanai Iguro is perhaps one of the least talked-about Hashira. His past is shrouded in mystery, and very little is known about his origins. But in the Infinity Castle, he is lucky to face the new Upper Rank Four, Nakime. While her blood demon art is quite impressive, she is nowhere near as powerful as other top-ranked demons.

Some of Iguro’s caliber just have to be vigilant, and he is almost guaranteed to survive. It would be interesting to see him finally reveal his true fighting prowess. Furthermore, the trilogy may also shed light on his past and provide more context for his motivation to join the Demon Slayer Corps, which can further explain his deep-seated hatred for demons.

Giyu Tomioka

Water Hashira is to Surpass His Own Expectations

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 1
  • Anime Debut: Episode 1

Giyu was the first Hashira who crossed paths with Tanjiro and Nezuko following the tragic attack in their home. As the story comes full circle, he is set to team up with Kamado and face Akaza. The Upper Rank Three had ruthlessly murdered Kyojuro Rengoku following the battle in Mugen Train; his actions that day have set the stage for a fateful showdown that will be one of the most memorable chapters in the Demon Slayer saga.

Tomioka is set to play a major role in this conflict as he is destined to finally get a mark because of Tanjiro. With Doma and Kokushibo engaged in a ruthless battle elsewhere, the duo has the best chance of taking down their rival, as he is not as powerful as the other two. Akaza’s battle with Rengoku also revealed that he can be vulnerable in specific circumstances, so Tanjiro and Tomioka, with demon slayer marks, have a great chance of defeating the demon.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

The Wind Hashira’s Indomitable Spirit Makes Him Unkillable

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 45
  • Anime Debut: Episode 22

Sanemi Shinazugawa is the most skilled swordsman of his generation. His unparalleled fighting prowess, coupled with an indomitable spirit, makes him a ruthless warrior whom demons fear to cross paths with. Sanemi has also had a rough childhood that has shaped him into a killing machine whose instincts are honed for survival.

I know how unfair the world is... Because good people... Die one after another.

Shinazugawa only gets more ruthless as he is pushed into a corner. In the Infinity Castle, he will be laser-focused on the goal of avenging Kagaya Ubuyashiki and bringing down Muzan’s reign of terror. As he manifests a demon slayer mark, it would be even tougher to take him down. Therefore, Shinazugawa is perhaps one of the few Hashira who is expected to survive the intense battle in Kibutsuji’s lair.

Gyomei Himejima

Stone Hashira Might Finally Manifest His Mark

  • Manga Debut: Chapter 44
  • Anime Debut: Episode 21

Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima is one of the toughest combatants of the Taisho era. Despite being blind, he has pulled off incredible feats in the past and has a long history of fighting intense battles that push him to his physical limits. Interestingly, Gyomei has triumphed over insurmountable odds every single time, not only to survive but also to defeat dangerous demons. He has done all that without even manifesting a mark, which goes to show that he is far from discovering his true physical limits yet. But that might change soon.

As the Stone Hashira steps into the Infinity Castle, he faces the toughest battle of his life. Gyomei, along with his peers, will fight an Upper Moon of the Twelve Kizuki. The dangerous demon possesses powers that defy all logic. But that might be a good thing, as fighting alongside a marked demon slayer will just push Himejima to manifest his mark. Even without one, Gyomei is incredibly dangerous. But once he has the mark, the Stone Hashira is highly likely to survive.
