2025 keeps getting better for Demon Slayer fans. First, they were treated to a phenomenal movie that covered a good deal of the Infinity Castle arc. They were blown away by the animation quality, for which they will forever remain grateful to ufotable. So far, everything produced by the studio has been phenomenal.
However, even ufotable will admit that Infinity Castle Part 1 was its best work to date. Given its quality, it's hardly surprising that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle became such a hit at the box office. After becoming the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, Infinity Castle Part 1 has now been nominated for a prestigious award.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Movie Could End Up Winning A Golden Globe
Recently, the nominees for the Best Animated Motion Picture at the Golden Globes were revealed, and unsurprisingly, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle made the list. Aside from Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, the following movies were also nominated:
- KPOP Demon Hunters
- Arco
- Little Amelie
- Elio
- Zootopia 2
All nominees have been widely successful, which is why they were chosen. However, it is a massive deal for Demon Slayer, as it is the first Japanese anime movie to be nominated for the award in a very long time. When it comes to chances of winning, fans should try not to get their expectations up. As previously stated, the other nominees have been amazing as well, which makes it even more difficult to vote. However, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has an edge because it arguably has the biggest fan base out of all six.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie covers the return of Akaza, the Upper Moon Three, who previously featured in the Mugen Train arc. In the Infinity Castle movie, Akaza's tearjerking story was revealed, and it cemented him as one of the best characters in the series.
Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc Was Snubbed
While Demon Slayer fans are celebrating the nomination, Chainsaw Man fans feel hard done by the committee. Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was released in September 2025, and it earned rave reviews from the viewers. In fact, it scored a higher rating on MyAnimeList.
Despite the acclaim, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was snubbed, and it's likely because it didn't earn as much as the other nominees. Demon Slayer has a much larger fan base, so it's obvious that it would generate more revenue.
However, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc was overall better than Infinity Castle. Firstly, it had a complete story. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle felt incomplete, as it only adapted a specific portion.
Secondly, Chainsaw Man didn't have to rely on animation alone. It highlighted different themes using visual clues and character interactions. Lastly, Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc resonated more with the audience as it tackled real-life issues like betrayal, love, and friendship.
