This article contains spoilers from Demon Slayer Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle proved to be a massive anime hit this year. Immediately after it was announced, fans were absolutely certain that it would go on to make waves and potentially even break the franchise's own box office records, and that's exactly what happened. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle surpassed all expectations, and continues to do incredible numbers even now, months after its initial release. It goes without saying that Demon Slayer Infinity Castle deserves every bit of praise it can get for delivering what it did. However, numbers don't always tell the full story.

Just because Demon Slayer Infinity Castle has made the most money doesn't necessarily mean it's the best in terms of quality. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc dropped a few months later and proved to be a spectacle like no other. While it's almost unfair to compare these two phenomenal movies, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc deserves the love and respect that's largely overshadowed by Demon Slayer’s numbers. In terms of quality, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is, hands down, the better movie of the two and 2025’s best anime release.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Debuts With 100% Score On Rotten Tomatoes

Fans Are Blown Away By Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc

Chainsaw Man Reze arc new trailer release date
  • Reze Arc is widely accepted to be 2025's best animated movie
  • Better animation, better music, better writing

With the US premiere of Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc edging closer, fans are itching to know how this incredible movie from Tatsuki Fujimoto has adapted one of the most beloved yet tragic parts of Chainsaw Man. To that end, fans now have a very clear answer. If countless reviews from those who already watched it in other countries weren't enough, then fans can just look at the fact that Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 100%, which is no small feat. It just goes to show that this movie is absolute perfection and nails down every single aspect of the media phenomenally well.

In order to soothe the spirits of those it killed, and to make sure it claims no further victims, I will swing my blade down and lop off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer over the things they did as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me.

Overall, Chainsaw Man has a more compelling story that resonates with fans more, and it has far better animation. In fact, in terms of animation, it is hard for any movie to compete with it. It nails the music side of things as well, and the character writing from Tatsuki Fujimoto is just unparalleled.

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Still Can't Beat Infinity Castle's Numbers At Box Office

Chainsaw Man Franchise Isn't As Big As Demon Slayer

Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc might be the better movie of the two, and most fans believe that it is, but it still doesn't change the fact that it can't beat Demon Slayer's box office records. Demon Slayer is a cultural phenomenon now, ever since Mugen Train. It is far bigger a franchise than Chainsaw Man and it goes without saying that it'll always be bigger and do higher numbers at the Box Office.

Still, numbers don't always tell the full story, and fans would do well to watch the movies and judge the movies themselves. At the end of the day, both films are an absolute joy to watch, even though they're two vastly different experiences. Fans are truly lucky to witness two of the most amazing movies in the same year. One can only hope that 2026 is just as good for anime as 2025 was.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is out in theaters now. Fans who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The remainder of the series will, however, be animated into movies, which fans will have to wait for their theatrical release to watch, depending on their country.
