Demon Slayer is one of the greatest anime of all time, with its hold on pop culture being undeniable. Ufotable has knocked it out of the park with an adaptation that pushes the realm of TV animation to new heights, to the point where every episode resembles a scene from a high-budget movie.
Demon Slayer: Best Episode In Each Arc, Ranked
Demon Slayer is made up of iconic and memorable story arcs, and for each one, there is a single episode that stands above the rest.
Given its shonen trappings, it's easy to see why some of the characters in Demon Slayer reach immense heights in power and seem nigh unstoppable. This can manifest in the form of dastardly villains who are too powerful for their own good or honorable heroes who repeatedly draw upon something amazing within themselves to secure victory.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Uses The First Form Of Thunder Breathing To Great Effect
- Debut: Final Selection (Episode 4)
Zenitsu is one of the best characters in Demon Slayer. Despite seeming like a goofball, it's evidently clear that he can get serious and use his mastery over the First Form of Thunder Breathing to great effect.
The way he develops his Thunderclap & Flash technique to reach new heights is nothing short of impressive. It's clear why his sensei considered this technique to be so crucial, given how the strongest demons in the show can't measure up to Zenitsu once his subconscious kicks in and he unveils the true extent of his swordsmanship skills.
Muichiro Tokito
Taking Out An Upper Rank Demon Moon On His Own Is No Mean Feat
- Debut: Against Corps Rules (Episode 21)
It's incredible just how Muichiro managed to come into his own against Gyokko after awakening his Demon Slayer Mark. He should've drowned the very moment he was outclassed, but a timely power-up ensured that he could take out an Upper Rank Five Demon Moon all by his lonesome, something that seemed unbelievable at one point.
He used his incredible Mist Breathing techniques to behead Gyokko and attain total victory over this foe. It's one of the most impressive Hashira victories in the series and turned the Mist Hashira into one of the most powerful and beloved Hashira in the show.
Akaza
A Martial Artist With Incredible Power
- Debut: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie - Mugen Train
The martial artist Akaza is one of the strongest foes in the series and not someone to be trifled with. The way he took out Rengoku after a hellish battle proves just how strong a demon he is.
Demon Slayer: Every Fight That Will Happen In the Infinity Castle Arc, Ranked
The Infinity Castle arc is an intense one. It features many exciting fights from Demon Slayer.
Tanjiro and Giyu have to pull out all the stops to defeat this foe, which is a Herculean effort. With his hard-hitting blows and incredible regenerative powers, Akaza is in a class of his own and one of Demon Slayer's strongest foes by a country mile
Doma
There's A Reason Why He's The Fearsome Upper Rank Two Demon Moon
- Debut: Someone's Dream (Episode 45)
It's only a given that someone who could effortlessly kill the Flower Hashira would be an immensely powerful demon, and Doma is no exception. His ice-y powers make it hard for any combatant to deal with his overbearing presence, something that Shinobu finds out firsthand.
It took a silly amount of wisteria poison and the death of a beloved Demon Slayer character for this demon to finally meet his end. His powers were truly OP, and one can't help but wonder how things would have unfolded if the Insect Hashira hadn't spent years preparing for this encounter against Doma.
Tanjiro Kamado
The Sun Breathing Running Through His Veins Helps Him Survive Every Single Time
- Debut: Cruelty (Episode 1)
The inheritor of Sun Breathing, whose dogged nature allows him to pull a rabbit out of the hat and save the day over and over again, Tanjiro is an obvious mention when it comes to the most OP characters in the series. Remembering and honing the dance he saw his father doing allowed this swordsman to reach new heights and obliterate enemies with his technique.
By the end of the series, Tanjiro has awakened everything from the Demon Slayer Mark to the Transparent World while devising a Sun Breathing technique specifically for Muzan. He's in a class of his own and a shonen protagonist who becomes OP time and time again without irritating fans, which is quite impressive.
Kokushibo
The Upper Rank One Demon Moon Is No Joke
- Debut: Someone's Dream (Episode 45)
Kokushibo is the brother of Yoriichi, who didn't have the natural talent of his brother and was unable to master Sun Breathing. However, his Moon Breathing was still stupidly powerful, especially after he accepted the offer to become a demon.
Demon Slayer: 7 Best Episodes, Ranked
These are arguably the best Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba episodes so far.
This made him worthy of being the Upper Rank One Demon Moon, who took out multiple Hashira in the series. He seemed like an insurmountable threat, but the Demon Slayer Corps managed to take him out... Albeit at a heavy cost.
Muzan Kibutsuji
The Demon King Who Is Nigh Impossible To Defeat
- Debut: Muzan Kibutsuji (Episode 7)
It's only a given that the Demon King Muzan Kibitsuji would be one of the most OP characters in the series. He has never faced a problem while fighting any character in the series, barring two notable exceptions.
The first ever demon ravaged the world with his hunger and greed, making him the series' main villain who has ruined everyone's lives in the series. Taking him out seemed impossible, but Tanjiro's mastery over Sun Breathing, along with the help of his allies, led to the Demon King's demise.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni
Fans Can Only Imagine How Strong He Would've Been If He Weren't Suffering From A Debilitating Illness
- Debut: Someone's Dream (Episode 45)
The fact that Yoriichi is comfortably one of the strongest characters in the series despite his fatal illness speaks volumes when it comes to his power. Despite being favored over his twin brother, Michikatsu could never reach the heights Yoriichi did with his Sun Breathing.
Muzan himself got a taste of Yoriichi's fearsome power when he almost died at the hands of the first Sun Breathing user, even though his opponent was in poor health. If this legendary swordsman hadn't contracted this illness, Muzan would've never lived long enough to kill Tanjiro's family.
