A new Destiny 2 leak revealed that a Destiny 10th anniversary event is coming soon, with various free rewards to earn and "new secrets" to discover. Bungie has yet to officially unveil its 10th anniversary plans for the Destiny franchise, but the leak reveals a description of what's coming soon in Destiny 2.

Following the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, Bungie released the game's first Episode, Echoes, on June 11. The release of Echoes marked the beginning of a new story, told over the course of three acts with weekly story missions. The Echoes storyline sends Guardians back to Nessus alongside Osiris and Saint-14 to investigate the mysterious power source known as the Echo. Alongside the release of new story missions, Bungie continues to update the game with limited-time events and other activities. Before the Echoes story comes to a close, Bungie is expected to reveal its plans for Destiny's 10th anniversary.

Following the most recent update, one of the more popular exotic weapons in Destiny 2 received an unfortunate and accidental nerf.

Reddit user Astraliguss shared new datamined images in the Destiny 2 Leaks subreddit, revealing several details about the upcoming 10th anniversary event. According to the leak, Bungie will host activities in the Pale Heart from Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion. In the Pale Heart, Destiny 2 players will hunt for hidden treasure chests and armor pieces to complete an all-new armor set for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks, respectively. New limited-time Triumphs will be available to complete during the 10th anniversary event. Completing all the 10th anniversary Triumphs will unlock the Legend title, which pays tribute to the original Destiny game's "Beyond Light" slogan.

Destiny 2 Leak Reveals Details About the Franchise's 10th Anniversary Event

The leak also shows that a new Nerf replica of Destiny's iconic Ace of Spades Exotic hand cannon will be sold. The Nerf hand cannon features a slightly altered design to incorporate the brand's signature orange hues, and a logo for the original Destiny game is featured along the gun's barrel. Specifications for the new Nerf gun and its retail price were not revealed in the leak, however.

Despite some uncertainty involving Bungie and Destiny 2's future, the 10th anniversary event should be a great opportunity for Destiny fans to team up and celebrate the franchise. Bungie will likely share its full plans for the new event before September 9, the date of the original Destiny game's launch in 2014, arrives. Destiny 2 Episode 2: Revenant is expected to launch one month later in October, with Revenant's entire story being made available on day one.
