  • This change restricts players from rapidly crouching, maintaining tactical gameplay.
  • Destiny 2: Episode Revenant introduces potion crafting and Contest Mode, enhancing the game.

Bungie has revealed a big change coming to Destiny 2's Crucible mode, focusing on something players have been asking for: putting an end to crouch spamming. This move comes in response to many complaints from the PvP community, as crouch spamming makes it harder to hit players who use this trick, giving them an unfair edge. Bungie is now stepping in to fix this issue, aiming to create a more balanced and fair gameplay experience for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is a very popular online multiplayer first-person shooter that mixes sci-fi and fantasy. Players, called Guardians, have to protect Earth's last city from various alien threats while playing both PvE and PvP modes. Since its release, Destiny 2 has kept evolving with expansions and seasonal updates. For a long time, though, fans have been asking for a change in the Crucible mode to stop "crouch spamming," where players rapidly crouch during gunfights to make it harder for others to hit them accurately. Bungie is now finally addressing this issue.

Bungie has announced that it will limit how many times players can crouch per second in the upcoming Destiny 2 Revenant episode. This adjustment is meant to level the playing field for those who use "Hold to Crouch" and "Toggle Crouch," putting a stop to the rapid crouching often used to gain an unfair advantage in gunfights. The goal is to maintain tactical crouching, which is a legitimate skill in competitive play, while preventing the abuse of macros or external devices that let players crouch at unrealistic speeds. Bungie reassured players that this change won’t affect normal gameplay for those who crouch at a regular pace, but it will put an end to excessive crouch spamming.

Bungie is Putting an End to Destiny 2's Crouch Spamming

Destiny 2: Episode Revenant is set to launch on October 8, and it’s bringing a lot of new content as well. One exciting addition is potion crafting, which allows players to brew combat and loot potions to boost their abilities and rewards. A new dungeon will debut on October 11, introducing Contest Mode for the first time in a Destiny 2 dungeon, adding an extra layer of challenge to this highly anticipated event.

Additionally, with Codename: Frontiers set to arrive in the summer of 2025, Bungie announced that they will remove separate dungeon keys. This means that Destiny 2 players will be able to access dungeons as long as they own the main expansion. As Bungie introduces these changes, it will be interesting to see how the Crucible mode evolves now that crouch spamming will no longer be an option.
