Bungie confirmed that Act 3 of Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes will launch on August 27 with brand-new content for players to explore. This will be the final act of the Echoes storyline in Destiny 2, and it's expected to tease what's to come in the following Episode, titled Revenant.
The first act of Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes launched on June 11, just a week after the launch of The Final Shape expansion. Echoes marked the beginning of a new storyline set directly after the defeat of the Witness in The Final Shape's Salvation's Edge raid. A mysterious energy source known as the Echo was detected on Nessus, prompting Guardians, Osiris, and Saint-14 to investigate the matter. The Echoes story will culminate in Act 3, and a major update will arrive on August 27 to introduce the Episode's final story act.
According to Bungie, Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes Act 3 will launch on August 27 with new activities, story missions, and rewards. Similarly to Act 2's Battlegrounds activity, a matchmade activity will be available during Act 3, with its completion aiding in the progression of the main story. Moreover, a new Exotic weapon will be available in Act 3. Bungie has not revealed specific details about Act 3's new activities, gear, and weapons yet, but players may prepare their Guardians for the new update by taking part in Destiny 2's annual Solstice event.
Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes Act 3 Begins on August 27
Until August 27, Destiny 2 players may battle waves of enemies in the Bonfire Bash matchmade activity to earn new rewards, including a new memento and the event-exclusive Fortunate Star bow. Players may also equip the new Sublime Suit armor set for this year's Solstice event and complete event challenges. Completing all event challenges will complete the Solstice Seal and unlock the Flamekeeper title, and those who complete the "Fuel for the Fire III" event challenge will unlock the limited-edition Bear Walker skateboard for purchase via Bungie Rewards.
After Echoes Act 3 begins, players may look forward to new limited-time events in Destiny 2. According to a recent leak, a Destiny 10th anniversary event will introduce new activities into the Pale Heart destination. In the Pale Heart, players may hunt for hidden treasure chests and armor pieces to complete all-new armor sets for their Guardians. Completing all the new limited-time Triumphs will unlock the Legend title. Destiny 2 Episode 2: Revenant is expected to launch in October after the 10th anniversary event concludes, and the Episode's entire story will be available on day one.
